So yesterday, I spent part of my day working up a draft press release for something called Help Rachel Breathe . I don’t know Rachel or Steven Phillips. They’re religious, I’m not. She’s a former professional ballerina, I’m essentially dance-blind. There are a lot of people in the world who are in trouble. But much as I chose not to care about Charlie Sheen, I’ve chosen to care about Rachel. http://bram452.livejournal.com/

If you’re a reader who’d like to get used to a broad variety of affordable fiction, I recommend you click through to my fiction library . The paid-for stories there, available free to all and sundry, can now add 7 and 7 to their number. It’s a novella, and a sequel to my novel SWITCHFLIPPED .

Pamela’s smile would have been perfectly lovely if it hadn’t had just a small touch of vacancy. She looked, perhaps, ten percent vacuous. Most men were willing to ignore that as a favor to her clear complexion, curvy figure, and the long auburn hair that always looked attractively messed up. http://www.kickstarter.com/profile/gregstolze
When Wiley Cash found himself homesick for the mountains of western North Carolina, he didn’t drive or fly home—he wrote his way back. In this interview, Cash discusses the importance of place in his debut novel, the legacy of Southern literature, and the influence of mentors on his work. Poetry—it isn’t just for poets! In her latest column, Katie Umans recommends straying from fiction with the following books: Kingdom Animalia, Something in the Potato Room, Le Spleen de Poughkeepsie , and Lucky Fish . Celeste Ng offers compelling proof that storytellers aren’t so different from scientists: both explore the same very large, very dark, very crowded room, poking and prodding and tirelessly asking, what if? With her debut novel, Regina O’Melveny’s heroine embarks on a journey through Renaissance Europe. http://fictionwritersreview.com/

However, thanks to some interest from our customer base, we’re giving them a try again. Somerville will now be offering a Baby-Friendly Matinee most THURSDAY afternoons at 1:30pm. The next will be 21 JUMP STREET on Thu 3/29 http://feitheatres.com/somerville-theatre/
After a family walking tour of our building, design your own city or neighborhood using a small-scale model of Boston, enjoy a program of family films, and other art-making activities. American violinist Hilary Hahn and German pianist/composer Volker Bertelmann (alias Hauschka) perform together in support of their new musical project, Silfra. Featuring examples of McElheny's work from the past 15 years, the exhibition explores questions about space and time, human history, and the ongoing dialogue among design, every day objects, and art. http://www.icaboston.org/
