This Will Blow Your Mind in 60 Seconds: The Power of Choice. I think I can blow your mind in 60 seconds or less (depending on how fast you can read). Here is a quick exercise in the power of choice and how it can affect your reality. 1) Listen to a bit of the song below (the really cool part comes in at 0:38) Relaxing, isn’t it? Or if you didn’t like that song, imagine one that you do find relaxing instead and play a couple seconds of it in your head. 2) Imagine that you are in a concentration camp and your Nazi captors are forcing you to listen to that song while you eat. Wouldn’t it be torturous? Notice that you are still listening to the same song; only the circumstances have changed. Now consider that this process could also go the other way if you choose for it to do so.

(I counted those 60 seconds up until this point, but if you want more clarification, read on!) Your experience with anything is wholly dependent on you — nothing else. How do I ‘choose’ my experience? As with everything, practice makes perfect. 3) Move on with your day. It’s long overdue because there are few things easier and more delicious than this pasta. I am obsessed with it. Of course, my obsession with avocados is nothing new but the idea of blending avocados into pasta was new to me when Angie made it for dinner one Friday night.

The fact that avocados are healthy for you is a delightful bonus. The Parmesan cheese? The original recipe is from Oh, She Glows and it couldn’t have been easier to replicate. There you have it. Introduction to Ceramics Ceramics is one of the oldest forms of art in human history.

The availabilty of material, its durability and versatility, functional objects, decorative pieces, and sculpture in nearly every culture around the world. At present, one of the biggest challenges in creating new ceramic work is grappling with the common stigma that ceramics is only a utilitarian trade or artisan craft. Toshiko Takaezu speaks directly to this issue by making vessels that are closed and therefore not functional while other ceramicists employ the medium for sculptural and figural forms. At the other end of the spectrum, artistic movements of the 20th century have embraced the craft based origins of ceramic art and incorporated traditional techniques and aesthetics into the production of contemporary work.

Either way, ceramics presents a rich and accommodating medium for any contemporary artist working today. Featured Members. S Gallery of Ceramics - Home > Ceramic Sculpture Galleries. Why is wall thickness such a difficult challenge to solve? The goal was to create tools to help designers identify and fix potential problem areas prior to 3D printing. The solution had to provide accurate and relevant data, in order to help 3D designers speed up the design and iteration cycle. Man vs Machine Take, for instance, a triangle: at the very tip, the wall thickness gradually becomes zero. The same concept applies to the edges of a blade of grass. The wall thickness will eventually get below the minimum wall thickness requirement for 3D printing.

Measurement Complexity Another challenge is measurement complexity. Furthermore, we see a lot of complex 3D models, designed by our community, that push the boundaries of design. Our Discovery Process The ideas of Alexandru Telea and Andrei Jalba, published in the academic paper, Voxel-Based Assessment of Printability of 3D Shapes were our starting point in developing the Wall Thickness Visualization Tool.
