elm street life: DIY: Bow clutch sewing tutorial.

http://www.elmstreetlife.com/2012/02/diy-bow-clutch-sewing-tutorial.html And fiiiinally... the tutorial you've been waiting for. This is my first real sewing tutorial - which scares me a bit, because I've never actually taken a sewing class, so I don't know all the terminology. What I do know is that I've learned to sew lots of things by reading tutorials, so hopefully I can make this simple enough that even you beginners can feel confident making a bag. And yes, a bag with a zipper!

http://findingcoffee.wordpress.com/2011/02/27/diy-coffee-scrub/ DIY Coffee Scrub Posted by mmarnall on February 27, 2011 · 10 Comments In a recent issue of Womans World , I came across this wonderful DIY Java Scrub recipe that I thought would be great to share with you dear reader. It was listed under ‘Cures for Tiredness’ and hey, I’m an 8-to-5er who is constantly busy- whether I’m working out, pursuing creative endeavors or just out and about, so I definitely get tired from time to time. The article claims that a coffee scrub will clear away dull skin and leave you with a brighter complexion, that the caffeine helps reduce swelling and the massaging action of applying the scrub flushes out excess fluid that make your hands, legs and feed look puffy.

Look at my new rainbow earbuds! I used to love perler beads when I was little. You know, those round plastic beads you laid out on white boards with pegs to hold the plastic beads, then ironed them and the melted together and you had a little piece of pixelated plastic art? {via flickr } My parents were cleaning out their house, and wanted to get rid of our old perler beads. I took them instead, and used some of them to decorate my earbuds as I’d seen here .

http://www.delightedmomma.com/2012/05/nails.html Pregnancy insomnia can be a little bit of a blessing (depending on how you look at it). Sometimes when I can't sleep I randomly get these ideas that just pop into my head. I quickly jot them down into my phone and revisit them when I am coherent in the morning. I would say only 30-40 % of them actually turn out like I imagined. Take this little project for example.

Perhaps I should begin this post by introducing you to my mom, also known as Her Ladyship Craftiness…er, Her Royal Craftiness? I’m still working on the title. Regardless, she’s the coolest, most creative and talented woman I know. She can make pretty much anything. At least once during high school, I borrowed a friend’s purse, brought it home to Mom, and she whipped one up just like it for me. Yes, I probably abused the power of being Her Ladyship’s daughter, and I no longer steal my friends’ purses, but the point is: my mom is awesome.

We love using chalkboards as backdrops for displays and parties (like this one here !). So we were super excited to learn that you can create your own custom colors-and it's really easy! We first learned how from Martha Stewart whose tutorial you can read here . She recommends that you use latex paint, but we tried it out with acrylic paints with much success. Here's how you too can create your own chalkboard paint... Supplies: 1/2 cup acrylic paint (choose any color you like, or mix colors together to make the perfect shade!)

More Design Please - MoreDesignPlease - DIY : Sailors Knot Bracelet&

Thanks to the wonderfully crafty team over at Etsy - we can now make our very own sailor's knot bracelets! I've always wanted to know how to do this- but as it was, my Mom signed me up for Brownies rather than Boy Scouts- thus I honed in on sewing patches rather than tying knots. But now with this easy tutorial, you too can be a master-knotter. Imagine the possiblilities! Hairbands, scarves, earrings- your creativity is the limit! 3.5 yards of twine 14 ounce can for a smaller bracelet or a 20 ounce can for a larger bracelet.
