Schapelle Corby. Schapelle Leigh Corby (born 10 July 1977) is an Australian woman convicted of drug smuggling in Indonesia. She spent nine years imprisoned on the Indonesian island of Bali in Kerobokan Prison. Since her arrest Corby has publicly maintained that the drugs were planted in her body board bag and that she did not know about them,[1] Her trial and conviction were a major focus of attention for the Australian media.[2] Early life[edit] Corby was born in the Gold Coast suburb of Tugun, in the Australian state of Queensland, to Michael Corby, who worked as a coal miner, and Rosleigh Rose, the owner of a fish and chip shop.[6][7] The couple separated when Corby was a baby.[6] After dropping out of high school in year eleven, she enrolled in a part-time beauty therapy course at a TAFE institute, finishing two of four course modules.

She then worked in her family's fish and chip shop and at a Coles supermarket.[8] Corby's older sister, Mercedes, married a Balinese man and lives in Bali.[9][10][11] Cannabis Law Reform. History[edit] Legalise Cannabis Alliance[edit] 2005 election campaign logo The party used a Cannabis leaf image as its emblem and Cannabis : legalise and utilise[3] served as its election manifesto. Alun Buffry was the party's nominating officer. In local elections in 2000, the party stood five candidates in Norwich and one in Peterborough,[2] and the party stood frequently in local elections.[5] In Orkney and Shetland, Paul Cruickshank took 1.8% of the votes.

As well as calling for the legalisation of cannabis, the manifesto in Wales included campaigning against GM food, for lower fuel tax for haulage and transport firms, and support for recycling and renewable energy.[7] The party met with then Home Secretary and Norwich South MP Charles Clarke in March 2006 to put their case for the legalisation of cannabis.[8] The LCA voted to de-register as political party at a conference in Norwich on 11 November 2006, and continue as a pressure group.

Alleged crime The US authorities claim he deleted critical files from operating systems, which shut down the United States Army’s Military District of Washington network of 2,000 computers for 24 hours.

McKinnon also posted a notice on the military's website: "Your security is crap". After the September 11 attacks in 2001, he deleted weapons logs at the Earle Naval Weapons Station, rendering its network of 300 computers inoperable and paralyzing munitions supply deliveries for the US Navy's Atlantic Fleet.

McKinnon is also accused of copying data, account files and passwords onto his own computer. US authorities claim the cost of tracking and correcting the problems he caused was over $700,000.[4] While not admitting that it constituted evidence of destruction, McKinnon did admit leaving a threat on one computer: "US foreign policy is akin to Government-sponsored terrorism these days … It was not a mistake that there was a huge security stand down on September 11 last year … I am SOLO.
