My kids, ages 2 and 4, were enthralled from start to finish. Maybe it will be the same for you?! This project encourages experimentation and curiosity, while also teaching basic kitchen skills.
On the recommendation of Deborah from Teach Preschool, we picked up a copy of The Popcorn Book by Tomie de Paola. The book shares a little bit about the history of popcorn while teaching children how to make popcorn. At one point in the story, the author writes, “The Colonists like it [popcorn] so much that they served popcorn for breakfast with cream poured on it.” The girls and I talked about this point for a few minutes and made some guesses about how this popcorn cereal might taste.

We had a lovely christmas break over here. i can't believe how quickly it came and went. on christmas eve we invited some friends over and had a relaxing dinner. artichoke dip, honey roasted ham, beer cheese soup, along with plenty of christmas cookies and a giant present shaped cake that our friends so thoughtfully made for us. after opening up our christmas jammies and watching christmas movies, we tucked the kids into bed and popped a bottle of champagne for santa duty. the next morning the kids were up by 6:30 and rushing down the stairs to see if santa had come. good news... he did. i made a delicious soup inspired by the big kids grandmother. she makes a ham and bean soup with the leftover ham from the night before. i made a few changes, but it was easy and delicious. this is what i did... you will need: have a good weekend. i will be back on monday!
Xx. 9 квадратных метров радости. Изначально это всего лишь подкладочная ткань по 30р. за метр. Я купила 6 метров (при ширине 150см), разрезала на два куска по 3м и сшила, края обработала зигзагом. И теперь это и Море, и Небо, и Ветер, и Айсберг, и Шатёр, и Плащ-Невидимка и всёчтоугодно!) Об этой затее я узнала на занятиях, куда мы ходим с ребёнком. Дети всегда в диком восторге, когда родители держат за края ткань и поднимают её вверх-вниз у них над головами. Получается ветер, и если туда подкинуть, например, пёрышки, то они начинают летать под этим небом. Я это сделала специально для Дня Рождения , и в итоге мы напридумывали ещё 33 удовольствия с этой тканью. Так что простор для деятельности и импровизации очень большой!
