Socialcast on Tuesday is launching a revision of its group communication service. Originally released in 2007, Tuesday's update has a much cleaner and more contemporary interface, and liberally borrows features and ideas from social sites such as Facebook , Twitter , and FriendFeed .
Econsultancy has details of a study that shows that half (48%) of tweeple have searched about a brand after being introduced to it on Twitter, compared to 32% across all social networks. Econsultancy says, “If true, that's a big deal.” Yes it is — just like the earlier research showing that 20% of tweets are about brands it provides tangible proof that social media and Twitter engagement pays off.

I just created a new Twitter account , and it got me to thinking about all the data visualization I've seen for Twitter tweets. I felt like I'd seen a lot, and it turns out there are quite a few. Here they are grouped into four categories - network diagrams, maps, analytics, and abstract .
Last week I wrote about the need for Twitter analytics . This morning I found TweetStats which addresses some of the items I’d like to see. In fact, this might be one of the most fascinating tools I’ve come across in a while. TweetStats displays: total tweets by month, tweets by day, tweets by hour, replies "@", and the interface used to create the tweet. Check out my charts which show that I sleep from 1am-6am eastern. January was my highest tweetie month so far with 1,093 tweets for an average of 36 per day!
