This is my first ever blog about wagwan in Cambs for DIY. Read in full (with music embeds etc) here . January is quiet month in every city, but the past few weeks have seen a surprising amount of bustle in Cambridge as students return, bands start tours and frost bites. So, I suppose I’ll start by extolling the great number of youthful rock ruffians currently rehearsing all around town. Take one White Label – a group of 18/19 year olds – whose album 'Funded In Mexico', set to materialise on bandcamp on February 8th, is a DIY indie rock delight.We are psyched to present the bi-coastal pairing of Brooklyn’s Chairlift + L.A.’s Nite Jewel — a couple of bands who happen to be responsible for two of the best pop records of 2012 so far — on Monday, April 16 , live at Club Dada in Deep Ellum here in Dallas. Tal como anunciado a semana passada lá fui até Viana do Castelo, para o NEOPOP, Electronic Music Festival. Antes demais, e porque foi a minha estreia neste festival de música electrónica que de há uns anos a esta parte se realiza em Viana, dizer que o espaço é fantástico e que a nível de organização tudo estava excelente. No segundo dia comecei por ver o Bloop Showcase com Magazino e José Belo e tal como no SBSR'10 há que destacar a excelente selecção e o óptimo entrosamento de ambos. Seguiram-se os Freshkitos, que rolaram algumas faixas bem interessantes, mas a deixarem algo a desejar ao nível da sequência.

Em Julho deste ano o estudante de doutoramento da Universidade de Boston Joel Tenenbaum foi considerado culpado da infracção dos direitos de autor por ter ilegalmente partilhado 30 músicas , tendo sido condenado a pagar 22.500 dólares por música num total de 675 mil dólares. Não contente com isso, menos de dois meses depois a indústria discográfica norte-americana agrupada em torno da RIAA solicitou uma injunção contra Tenenbaum de forma a que a juÍza Nancy Gertner o impedisse escort bayan de promover e a pirataria por intermédio da Internet. [Continue a ler] Mal-grado alguns críticos terem acusado Christian Engström, o sueco eleito para o Parlamento Europeu em nome do Partido Pirata, de ter adoptado uma posição pouco firme no âmbito da negociação do Pacote Telecom de modo a permitir que a emenda anti-resposta gradual se mantivesse, não se pode dizer que o trabalho do eurodeputado pirata tem sido de todo inútil.
