The excellent contracting watchdog, Ms. Sparky , drew my attention to this developing story: A Norfolk, Virginia, man was arrested on a military base in Iraq and brought back to the States in police custody this weekend for allegedly raping a "juvenile female," then hiding out in the Middle Eastern nation as a contractor for the US government. For seven years. Norfolk police say Daniel Phillips, 46, was wanted in connection for the rape of an underage girl in 2004 and 2005, but when warrants were issued for his arrest, he secured employment as a military contractor in a computer-related position and left for Iraq, where he stayed until authorities started tracking him in December. Well, he didn't stay there the whole time. http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2011/01/contractor-hid-iraq-seven-years-over-us-rape-charge

Make Your Music Go Viral on Facebook By Offering It For Free

http://mashable.com/2011/01/20/disrupt-fm/ According to Dave Glassanos, founder of Disrupt.fm, the price of a song is about the equivalent of a Facebook update. That's up for debate, but I will say that Glassanos's Facebook-oriented startup is pretty cool. Disrupt.fm is based on the premise that pirating music is a common occurrence — one that yields no benefit for musicians when it comes to publicity.

Thanks to Jonny Ive and his talented team, Apple is certainly no slouch in the design department. But that doesn't mean fans can't have their say about what products they'd like to see in the future. We've found ten cool Apple design concepts from around the web that we think could make pretty sweet products in their own right. http://mashable.com/2011/01/26/fan-made-apple-product-concepts/

Chargers Free Agency 2011: Defense

For a team once considered among the league’s deepest and most talented squads, the Chargers offseason will go a long way in determining if that perception can be maintained in the future. With a staggering 28 Bolts set to hit free agency in early March, the organization has a plethora of important decisions to make concerning the team’s future at several key positions. The offseason has been underway for a few weeks now in San Diego, yet still there has been no word from General Manager A.J. Smith to the press on which way he is leaning considering each individual free agent.
My name is Sam, and I'm a 18 year old kid who loves making videos.
