Automation is something that every producer can benefit from using, but you might not know how it can be employed or what effect it can have on your sounds.
This being the case, we've put together a list of practical examples of automation in action, complete with audio clips so that you can hear the results of its application. All of our sounds were created in Logic, but it's the principles that are important here, and these can be applied in any DAW with automation facilities. 1. White noise pad Here's the electronic equivalent of the reverse cymbal. 2. Big, fat basses that evolve and grow throughout the duration of a note are all the rage, whether in dubstep, DnB or even house. 3. Left to their own devices, pads can often become dull and simply take up space. 4. Here we've programmed a basic dub part, but we occasionally wanted to delay the snare to get some characteristic heavy echoes. HOLALA! IBIZA.
Women's fashion clothing. Queenies. The Queen's diamond jubilee is fast approaching.
For us Brits this means the run up to one of the biggest events of the year. The streets are lined with flags & shop windows are bursting at the seems with red, white & blue pride. Seeing as I was on the other side of the world for The Royal Wedding last year, I've decided to get stuck into this particular British shindig! So, what's the most English thing you can think of?
(Don't say rain.) Victoria Sponges! What's better than a Victoria Sponge? Your very own, individual layered cake... cooked in a tin can! It feels very Swallows & Amazons to make your own baking tins & they happen to be just the right size. Once you've mastered the art, you'll be whipping up armies of Can Cakes in all different flavours!
Use a can opener to remove the top & the bottom of your cans. If you're making your sponge by hand, you'll need to: Cream your butter and sugar together in a bowl until pale and fluffy. Bake in the middle of your oven for 15mins. The Londoner: Slutty Brownies. Now I don’t want to over sell this, so I’m going to be conservative and simply say, that these are… The Best Brownies In The WORLD.
I know, big statement. They’re called Slutty Brownies because they’re oh so easy, and more than a little bit filthy. They’re best served warm from the oven, with good quality vanilla ice cream (devastatingly I didn’t have any in the freezer this time, so I guess I’ll just have to make them again). They take about 45mins to make, including baking time. The ultimate comfort food, whipped up within the hour. Salar De Uyuni: Bolivia's Stunning Salt Fields (PHOTOS) The Salar de Uyuni--one of the most breathtaking sights in the world--consists of some 4,633 square miles of salt and a train graveyard.
The area, some 11,985 feet above sea level, is always a tourist playground, with salt hotels and hot springs serving as major attractions. This time of year, three species of South American flamingos start breeding in the area, the result of a winged migration that adds a beautiful flash of color to the landscape and sometimes brings in flocks of birdwatchers. Getting to the area is relatively easy: Trains are available from nearby cities such as Oruro and Villazon and buses run from La Paz.
There are numerous tour operators which can take visitors for day or multi-day trips. A Japanese tourist couple walks in the world's largest salt flat of Uyuni, 550 Km southwest of La Paz, Bolivia on July 20, 2011.
