Meg Robertson: Taking the bus down Genese... FIRST EVER 'PORTABLE BERLIN WALL' UNVEILED BY LONDON POLICE. HOUSTON 1m43s Police Place Tent Over Restrained Protesters and Gas Them. A New Indignado! On Thursday December 22, 2011 in the Tirso de Molina neighborhood of Madrid, Spain, I was stopped, accused, searched, insulted and to my mind threatened by four undercover members of the Madrid police force, simply due to their perceived notions of my political beliefs.

A New Indignado!

I have filed a denuncia (official complaint) against this deed, but as the officers basically refused to identify themselves, I was unable to file against them individually. Let me begin by saying that until this early morning just after midnight, never did I consider myself an Indignado. I am hardly young. I work. I have many things for which to be thankful, things that the Spanish youth graduating from universities today see as an impossibility to attain.

Last night I met with my brother around 19:30 in the Puerta del Sol to take some pictures and videos of a couple of protests -- one in support of the victims of Francisco Franco's Fascist regime, and another in support of the Madrid #15M Movement. Seven Occupy FIU Demonstrators Arrested At Planned Concert On Campus (WATCH)

The group, which included non-students and members of Occupy Miami, was gathered at the Deuxieme Maison pit on the school's main Modesto A. Maidique campus for the planned "Occupy FIU Art & Music Festival" when they were asked to move to another location. As a five-minute warning expired and an Occupy member was still relaying the message to the crowd using the repeat-after-me "people's mic" method, campus police moved in to make arrests. "We were making no noise, there was nothing playing, it was really peaceful," Occupy FIU member Victoria Aguila told FIUSM.

"When someone stood up to say ‘let’s go to the lawn,’ they removed us. "Diplomacy is over," Miller reports police told FIU student William Sanchez, and the group began packing up and moving. The footage is believed to have been deleted by police when he was in custody. Miller was able to access the deleted video. In a post, he concludes police spokesperson Nancy Perez allowed other media to walk past her to cover the news event and arbitrarily chose to arrest him. The recovered video of Miller’s arrest was put up on YouTube. There is a television cameraman, who is permitted to exercise his press freedom. It shows that police had already fallen out of their military formation, which they had been in all night as they dispersed the activists. NYPD Gets Pepper Sprayed. Broadcast Yourself. A New Way to Punish Oakland Cops? Federal Judge Thelton Henderson and the court monitors overseeing the Oakland Police Department have been frustrated for years by the lack of accountability in the department when it comes to police officer misconduct.

A New Way to Punish Oakland Cops?

Typically, the department places officers accused of wrongdoing on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation. But then if internal affairs recommends an officer be disciplined, or even fired, that recommendation often is overturned later by an arbitrator. This arbitration system is guaranteed by the union contract between the city and the Oakland Police Officers' Association, and it often helps cops avoid department recommended discipline or termination. However, Judge Henderson recently indicated that he might add a new way to punish officers who commit wrongdoing. And if he chooses to implement this new disciplinary process, it will be the first of its kind in the country. Occupy footage exonerates journalist; cop lied under oath. Photojournalist Alexander Arbuckle, arrested while covering Occupy Wall Street protests, was acquitted Tuesday after a short trial.

Moreover, footage shown in court suggests that police lied about what happened. Arbuckle was charged with disorderly conduct when police rounded up New Year's Day protestors near Sixth Avenue. The arresting officer claimed that he was blocking traffic in the street—a version of events repeated under oath. OccupyData : One idea: What if we used...
