The Disco - Hyperdata Browser is a simple browser for navigating the Semantic Web as an unbound set of data sources. The browser renders all information, that it can find on the Semantic Web about a specific resource, as an HTML page.The RDF book mashup demonstrates how Web 2.0 data sources like Amazon, Google or Yahoo can be integrated into the Semantic Web. RDF Primer
The Resource Description Framework (RDF) is a language for representing information about resources in the World Wide Web. This Primer is designed to provide the reader with the basic knowledge required to effectively use RDF. It introduces the basic concepts of RDF and describes its XML syntax. It describes how to define RDF vocabularies using the RDF Vocabulary Description Language, and gives an overview of some deployed RDF applications. It also describes the content and purpose of other RDF specification documents.
Forbes has published an article that points out an opportunity for Semantic Technology companies. The article discusses the lack of understanding in companies around big data . Author Gil Press writes, “Listening to Gartner analysts Sheila Childs and Merv Adrian talking yesterday about big data infrastructure challenges , I was reminded of a story Mike Ruettgers, former EMC CEO, liked to tell about similar challenges in the early 1990s. At the time, the reigning buzzword was ‘client/server computing,’ signaling a shift to relatively inexpensive servers based on the UNIX operating system. The early adopters were not the people in the glass houses, the data center managers. Rather, they were marketing managers and other business executives.”

What is Tracker? Tracker is a semantic data storage for desktop and mobile devices. Tracker uses W3C standards for RDF ontologies using Nepomuk with SPARQL to query and update the data. Tracker is a central repository of user information, that provides two big benefits for the user; shared data between applications and information which is relational to other information (for example: mixing contacts with files, locations, activities and etc.).

Suite à quelques discussions récentes , je me suis replonger dans les arcanes du RDF . En effet, Pearltrees offrant une possibilité d'exportation des favoris en RDF , ma curiosité naturelle m'a poussée à investiguer de manière à savoir ce que je pouvais faire concrètement avec ce fichier. En plus, @SebDeclercq a été assez gentil que pour me transmettre sa propre sauvegarde, m'épargnant ainsi la tâche fastidieuse d'enrichir mes propres Pearltrees . Donc, j'ai un fichier contenant plein de liens, et maintenant, je veux exploiter ces informations. Comment faire ? Comme indiqué dans le billet du blog de Nicolas Cynober , nous pouvons utiliser un outil comme SPARQLer pour manipuler les informations.

Cet opération s’effectue dans les settings de votre compte pearltrees, vous pouvez y télécharger un fichier RDF, le stocker sur votre ordinateur ou le re-publier sur votre site. RDF est un merveilleux format pour partager des données sur le web, et il est donc très facile de le réutiliser pour obtenir des informations sur votre compte.
