Futuracha is a display font designed during my third year in graphic design school, in typography course with professor K. Giotas. The name is the combination of words futura and cucaracha (cockroach in spanish). The design is based on the basis of pf futura book which has for me a ideal weight. The letters' edges radically extend in a forceful way trying to remind the art deco's style.

If you are working as a graphic designer or a web designer, you probably know already that is really frustrating to see how good a font looks on a design but you can’t use it because it’s not available for commercial use. I’ve encountered this situation and it’s really annoying. Respecting a font’s license is sine qua non if you are selling your work because you could face lawsuits and you don’t want that.

New Free Quality Fonts - Union & Vollkorn » Apr 17, 10:02 PM I n the article “25 Best Free Quality Fonts” published in my blog few months ago, I’ve mentioned the font “Union” (s. below). This font, designed by the Danish Ministry of Education , was removed from the server in the December of 2005.
