Road Rules Awareness Week < Campaigns < NSW Centre for Road Safety. Our video animations help explain some of the most misunderstood road rules. Brush up on rules Our online video animations were developed for Road Rules Awareness Week to help all road users with the road rules. The success of the first Road Rules Awareness Week in 2013 gave all road users the chance to improve their knowledge of the road rules and learn about new measures. Each year we focus on the most misunderstood road rules and provide an opportunity for road users to have their questions answered.

The Top 10 misunderstood road rules in NSW (PDF, 345Kb) outlines changes to the NSW Road Rules in late 2012 that brought the state into line with the Australian Road Rules. The Top 10 guide provides simple answers to many road rule questions, including how to indicate at a roundabout, when to use high-beam and fog lights, and when it is permitted to make a U-turn at traffic lights. The guide is also available at Services NSW and RMS registries.
