Christopher Hitchens on the crimes of Henry Kissinger 1/6. Pearl Harbor advance-knowledge conspiracy theory. The Pearl Harbor advance-knowledge conspiracy theory is the idea that American officials had advance knowledge of Japan's December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. Ever since the Japanese attack there has been debate as to how and why the United States had been caught off guard and how much and when American officials knew of Japanese plans for an attack.[1][2] Several writers, including journalist Robert Stinnett[3] and retired US Navy Rear Admiral Robert A.

Theobald,[4] have argued that various parties high in the U.S. and British governments knew of the attack in advance and may even have let it happen or encouraged it in order to force America into war via the "back door. "[5][6] Evidence supporting this view is taken from quotations and source documents from the time[7] and the release of newer materials.

However, the Pearl Harbor advance-knowledge conspiracy theory is rejected by most mainstream historians.[8][9][10] Ten official U.S. inquiries[edit] Purple[edit] JN-25[edit] A Time-Lapse Map of Every Nuclear Explosion Since 1945 - by Isao Hashimoto. Saddam Hussein, the president of Iraq from 1979 until 2003, has gained international notoriety for torturing and murdering thousands of his own people.

Hussein believes he ruled with an iron fist to keep his country, divided by ethnicity and religion, intact. However, his actions bespeak a tyrannical despot who stopped at nothing to punish those who opposed him. Having been captured, Saddam Hussein will now be tried for his past crimes.
