Ultimately, man/woman should not ask what the meaning of his/her life is, but rather he/she must recognize that it is he/she who is asked. - Viktor E. Frankl You cannot know where to go until you know where you have been. -Unknown I was born and raised in a small farming community in Minnesota and now live in one of the largest cities in the world. Many people have asked me why I have done that and the best answer I really can give is that it sort of turned out that way. Obedience, I believe, was intended to prevent experiences like mine from happening. Obedience prevents my inner passion to always learn about the world from developing. I am extremely self-disciplined, however. That is the difference between me and other people. I do not listen to authority; only my own will. As a result, I have completed two masters degrees as well as learned a very difficult language. I have also been professionally published and have certifications in my area of specialty, systems engineering. I love to read about extremely difficult topics that others would use to cure insomnia, such as software engineering and network architecture. My self-discipline has guided me along despite the fact that I have both Epilepsy and heart problems. Now i wear a necklace, like a dog would wear a collar, telling people of my conditions. I have been married to a fantastic Japanese woman for over 16 years and have a bilingual daughter well. Both of them I am very loyal and caring. I am also extremely loyal and caring about my other family and friends. I can never understand people who are simply mean to others; there are enough unsolved questions about our world without having those people causing harm. Living in Japan has taught me, most of all, that there are other ways of doing things that just as "correct" as what we would do in the US. The importance of respecting the ways of others is a point which I cannot emphasize enough.
