new paintings & prints

I've just added a bunch of glossy prints to my etsy shop as well as canvas mounted prints of my paintings. They turned out so cool :) I used extra thick canvas so they are super chunky & I love them. I painted the sides black & added hand painted details to them. Then sealed it all in with gloss varnish. They are all available in my etsy shop & facebook page. http://meganscreativebliss.blogspot.com/2011/12/ive-just-added-bunch-of-glossy-prints.html
Back in February I was asked to take part in a group show called 20:12 as part of The End expo in Cancun, Mexico. 24 artists were chosen (12 from Mexico, 12 from other countries). Inspired by the end of the world according to the Mayan calendar (this year apparently. Don't start reading any long books.) we were each asked to illustrate a clock face that represented a specific hour of the day.

I met my best friend in 7th grade. We were both transfer students and were required to take an ESL test on the first day of school. I still remember us sitting at the round table in the library complaining to each other that we don't need to take an ESL test! Little did we know that test would spark an incredible friendship of 17 years.

I was recently asked to contribute to a group show that is opening this Saturday at Gallery Nucleus . The title of the show is "Baker's Dozen",with the idea that all of the contributing artists illustrate popular idioms. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a few words can make a delightfully pretty picture.
