DIY Hanging Coat Rack

If you have a narrow entryway or a shortage of closet space in your home, try this easy DIY as an alternative to traditional, free-standing coat racks. Fallen branch2 equal lengths of chain link (measure from ceiling to approximate hanging height and multiply by two to get the length of each chain)2 eye hooks2 screw anchorsDrillHammerLow- or no-VOC paint Step 1: Paint the branch Choose a sturdy, fairly straight branch with a few knots that give it an interesting shape, and make sure the hook of a hanger can fit around the diameter.

Let the branch dry out completely, then, using a small brush, paint it with eco-friendly white paint for a fresh look. Step 2: Secure eye hooks in ceiling Anchor two ceiling hooks 1' from the wall, to ensure enough space for coats to hang. Step 3: Hang the finished branch Slip both ends of one length of chain link onto an eye hook to create a loop. Look to inspire. Audible gasp. Lace lamp/Doiliy Lamp – DIY. Lace lamp/Doiliy Lamp – DIY

So we are able to use it even in the winter. (Dalarna is in th middle/north of Sweden. To me and Jenny it’s north but Sweden is a very tall country so I guess we are not even in the middle). Anyway it’s great cause I have the time and space to do lots of DIY projects. Starting with this lamp. First we used a huge baloon that I bought at a party store. Then you collect all the old Dollys (?) Paint them with lots of wallpaper glue so they are soaked. Hang the ballon on a string and put the soaked lace on the baloon. Then wait for a while. Pop the baloon when the glue is dry. Update 1:Some of you asked how to get the bulb into the shade. You mos def want to use a LED lamp or a energy saving bulb because it’s cold and it will not affect the glue either. I bought a nice looking iron wire in pink but when I opened the box it was red. Update 2: Problems making the lamp?! 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.Good luck!

Cut it out!! ......canvas tutorial

Take your favorite quotes and put them up on the walls with this easy, inexpensive idea! Supplies: Canvas (found mine at Hobby Lobby in a 2 pack for $7.99) Fabric contact paper spray paint staple gun printer and exacto knife or a cricut machine Step 1: Cover your canvas in the fabric you selected and secure it with a staple gun on the backside of the wood frame. Step 2: Using contact paper cut out the letters of your saying on a circut machine. Position the letters on the canvas. Step 3: When all the letters have been placed, spray a thick layer of spray paint over the entire canvas.

Step 4: When it is dry, peel the letters off. Hang it on your wall and enjoy! Another design option: Instead of covering the canvas with fabric, just place your letters onto the canvas, spray and peel. **edited to add: I get several emails asking about how to get the letters to stick better and prevent the paint from bleeding underneath.
