Inspire Someone | 100 Ways to Get Inspired. Rewriting the Mind - We Are What We Think - Evolving Beings | Consciousness... The conscious mind is the part we are aware of – the part that does the thinking, worrying, planning and creating. It is a tiny part of the structure; it is the subconscious that is the looming bulwark, a massive entity with incredible powers and potentials. Its unique characteristic is that it can create anything that we command it to create, by virtue of the thoughts we think. If you believe that you cannot achieve something, if you believe that you cannot have something, the subconscious will create conditions, so that your beliefs are proved. To transform your life, it is very important that you seek the help of the subconscious.

Thus the negative thoughts that create our negative conditioning, can be overthrown by affirming their opposite. To transform your life you must have a picture of yourself as you wish to be. A Simple Mind Trick to Switch Off Depression. By A.B. Curtiss Author of Depression is a Choice and Brainswitch Out of Depression Taking drugs for depression often turns out to be a medical and emotional yo-yo.

If one drug doesn’t work, says the American Psychiatric Association, try another. If you don’t get relief from changing one drug for another, use a combination. For a third of the population though, according to recent research, no drug works. It is heart-breaking to read how many sufferers, especially teen-agers, commit suicide even while on their meds. There’s some light at the end of the tunnel. Brainswitching uses simple mind exercises to switch the neuronal activity from the emotional part of the brain (the subcortex) to the thinking part of the brain (the neocortex) which does not have the capacity for depression.

Here’s an example of an exercise. Concentration upon your neutral or nonsense thought in the neocortex will thoughtjam the cognitive awareness of whatever depression is going on in the subcortex. A.B. How to Hack Your Brain. Existential Angst Factory. Followup to: The Moral Void A widespread excuse for avoiding rationality is the widespread belief that it is "rational" to believe life is meaningless, and thus suffer existential angst. This is one of the secondary reasons why it is worth discussing the nature of morality. But it's also worth attacking existential angst directly. I suspect that most existential angst is not really existential. Let's say you're trapped in an unsatisfying relationship, so you're unhappy.

So you say something like: "Skiing is meaningless, chocolate is meaningless, charity is meaningless, life is doomed to be an endless stream of woe. " Maybe you're poor, and so always unhappy. What about rich heiresses with everything in the world available to buy, who still feel unhappy? So they're constantly unhappy—and they blame it on existential angst, because they've already solved the only problem they know how to solve. I don't endorse all of the above, of course. 15 Simple Ways to Overcome Anger - Global One TV. Courtesy of ThinkSimpleNow.com Can you recall the last time you were really angry at someone? So much so that you were physically shaken just at the thought of them? Rarely does this feeling of anger help us in getting what we want. Often, it will work against us, resulting in more pain, unnecessarily. Even the most gentle of personalities can temporarily turn into a vindictive rascal, if pushed far enough.

A friend of mine is going through a divorce with a spouse who is unreasonably prolonging the process. Through helping him come to a place of understanding and forgiveness of his ex-spouse with love, compassion and humility (we had to dig deep), I realized that the same tools can be used in dealing with other negative emotions. For sake of simplicity, we will use anger as the target emotion to overcome. Why Do We Feel Like Crap? Anger doesn’t feel very good. The answer is: Very easily. There is so much in life that we just tolerate. Some of it we have to deal with (taxes, bad weather, traffic). But there’s a good portion of stuff that we tolerate even when we don’t have to. We step around things, overlook irritations, and mindlessly accept energy drains. Perhaps we’ve become so immune to these tolerations that we don’t recognize the negative impact they have on us. Undoing the Worrying Habit Once acquired, the habit of worrying seems hard to stop. We're raised to worry and aren't considered "grown up" until we perfect the art. Teenagers are told: "you'd better start worrying about your future". If your worries aren't at least as frequent as your bowel movements, you're seen as irresponsible, childish, aimless. That's a "responsible adult" game rule. To the extent that worrying is learned/conditioned behaviour, it can be undone. Centuries-old cultural conditioning has given us a nasty neurosis: the belief that happiness must be "earned".

Laid on top of the first neurosis is the idea that spending money will make you happy. So: we never stop working, we never stop spending money, we're never really happy – ideal conditions, coincidentally, for a certain type of slave economy. You won't stop worrying if you think it serves you. The fight-or-flight response (FOF) is useful on rare occasions of real danger. Worrying is never useful.
