I saw some really great white ceramic mugs at the dollar store the other day and I thought they would be fun to paint for Christmas gifts and fill with goodies. After I got them home I looked for a serving tray to go with them but I did not have one so I made one out of hardboard and wood scraps.

I think it turned out pretty nice! Watch the video to see how! Supplies: Surfaces: white ceramic mugs, 12″x16″ hardboard, wood scrap The following supplies are by Martha Stewart Crafts: Vintage Décor Paint: Ivory, Red Wagon, Sailor Blue, Brook Multi Surface Metallic: Gold, Sterling, Copper Basic Brush Set Vintage décor paint brush Directions: 1.

Design Seeds®: For All Who Love Color. Metal Embossing Tools and Materials Mercartusa.com. Payne Street Pottery and Studios - Pottery Classes. The Beginner Most people start classes completely new to clay. So, on the first class I start with a demonstration designed for the complete novice. I show students how to (1) prepare the clay for throwing on the potter's wheel (2) center, open, and pull up the walls of a small pot and (3) clean up at the end of class. Then, I move around the room and help each person go through these steps. Practice! Practice! As students gain skills, I add more advanced demonstrations that build on each other: a small pot, to a larger/taller pot, to a bottle or pitcher. The Artist When I have a more advanced student join me for the first time, I like to spend some time observing his or her skills before offering individual instruction.

When you sign up for one of our evening classes, we will meet for two hours, once a week, for 6 weeks. Each class may have as few as 5 or 6, or as many as 10 or 11 students. Classes are from 6-8 pm on Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings (6-weeks).

A Modern Take on the Doily - $850 Lamp for less than $50. A Modern Take on the Doily $850 Lamp for less than $50? Yes Please! Hello Pretty people! We are so excited to share a project we did this past weekend. A few months ago, I came across a ceiling lamp, I absolutely loved. To get started, you are going to need a few things to make this project successful. Corn starchballoon (we used a 40” blown up until completely round, as pictured)upholstery thread (but any thread will do)twinedrop clothschool gluecheap paintbrushpetroleum jellylamp kit24+ doiliesstiff stuff We sewed the doilies around the balloon with the upholstery thread, very carefully. Make sure to create a space to place your bulb socket. Once you have sewn about ¾ of your balloon, stop and do the last ¼ separately. Lay down your tarp and hang your balloon from some twine above the tarp.

Rub the balloon down with the petroleum jelly. When you are complete, let your doilies dry for about 24 hours, the pop the balloon! It should look something like the image above! I am Lana.

Handmade. Fire Polished Czech Glass Beads (6mm and smaller) Blog | Linda Matthews: Textile Artist & Creative Explorer. Recommended products for printing on fabric using an inkjet printer As I mentioned in a previous post, I print on fabric using my inkjet printer using various different techniques, and I also use various different products to achieve the results I’m looking for. Let’s have a look at the products that I use. (Note that the links in this article will refer you directly to the product supplier where I get my supplies from.)

Printer For printing on fabric I use a dedicated printer which is an Epson WorkForce 1100 Wide-Format Color Inkjet Printer. I’ve considered upgrading to a newer model, but this particular printer (after a few initial problems) is still going strong after quite a few years and I have no reason to retire it just yet. This printer is a wide format so I can print up to 13″ wide by 44″ long, and it uses pigment inks which means I can make fabric prints that are permanent and washable. You can also find additional information about printers here on the Inked Cloth website. Fabric. Craftgawker | look to inspire.

Archive for the 'Crafting' Category A Fast and Easy Yarn-Themed Ornament December 1st, 2013 by Guest With less than a month to go until Christmas, it’s fun to make quick and easy little projects to add a festive touch to your home. Friend of Lion Brand, Chris Zimmerman, of the Midwest Fiber & Folk Art Festival sent us this photo of his great ornament idea from the last holiday season. Here’s what he had to say about it: We were invited to bring an ornament to trade instead of a gift to trade with other attendees at the party. Enjoy!!
