Get flash to fully experience Pearltrees
So since my entry didn't get short-listed for the D and DA student awards( ): ) I can finally post it on the internet without fear of violating their rules. I chose to design the Little White Lies magazine cover for the illustration brief since its the sort of thing I'd love to do in the future. You got to pick from a list of films including Black Swan, Tinker Taylor and Drive, and much as I wanted to stare at Gosling's face for a week, I just had to choose Spielberg's Super 8, if only for the fantastic hour long train wreck scene .So, so good. Its such an amazing film, like a combination between ET and the Goonies, with explosions and the classic Spielberg big eyed monster at the end. I can't recommend it enough.

The Jimmy Stewart movie "Call Northside 777" is not a great movie, but there were some great choices in lighting and cinematography that I liked. I started out just writing about the values and cinematography, but that led to a few other thoughts about how to make artistic choices, and how every choice you make on a movie comes from the story, which means it's really important for every person on a movie to know what each sequence is about (as well as the overall story). In the film, Stewart plays a newspaper reporter trying to uncover the truth behind a man who he thinks was wrongly sent to prison for killing a police officer.Transform your broken office crap into inspiration - Upcycle, Inspiration, Office Supplies, & Productivity advice from Fingertips
This is the work of a Viennese art group called Gelatin their page about the item includes a doc file with more key details. The bunny is 200 feet long -- a toy rabbit "knitted by dozens of grannies out of pink wool". The toy is expected to stay there, on the side of this 5,000 foot high mountain (Colletto Fava in northern Italy's Piedmont region) for 20 years, until 2025.

I didn’t mean to pick up Sweet Tooth . I’d heard a lot about it, sure, but I had a lot on my plate already. I just happened to be in on the bookstore level of the building my fiancée works in and slipped it off the rack while I was waiting for her. I accidentally finished it. Like the tempting candy that eventually lends the main character his nickname (along with the title of the comic), Sweet Tooth is undeniably seductive.

One man, 100,000 toothpicks, and 35 years: An incredible kinetic sculpture of San Francisco | Colossal
Thirty five years ago I had yet to be born, but artist Scott Weaver had already begun work on this insanely complex kinetic sculpture, Rolling through the Bay , that he continues to modify and expand even today. The elaborate sculpture is comprised of multiple “tours” that move pingpong balls through neighborhoods, historical locations, and iconic symbols of San Francisco, all recreated with a little glue, some toothpicks, and an incredible amount of ingenuity. He admits in the video that there are several toothpick sculptures even larger than his, but none has the unique kinetic components he’s constructed. To celebrate the engagement of Prince William of Wales to Ms. Catherine Elizabeth Middleton, Crown Jewels Condoms of Distinction has commissioned a unique heritage edition Royal Wedding Souvenir boîte de capotes. Combining the strength of a Prince with the yielding sensitivity of a Princess-to-be, Crown Jewels condoms promise a royal union of pleasure. Truly a King amongst Condoms. Crown Jewels Royal Wedding Souvenir Condoms are not supplied to, or approved by, Prince William of Wales, Catherine Middleton or any member of the Royal Family.

Wonderfully Creepy Sculptures Carved From Bananas
A few years ago, I read some interesting stuff on periodical cicadas . We generally don’t see a lot of these little guys as they spend the vast majority of their lives quietly tunnelling away underground and munching on tree roots. However, depending on the species, every 7, 13, or 17 years these periodical cicadas simultaneously emerge en masse, transform into noisy, flying creatures, find a mate, and die not long after. While this is a rather rock’n’roll ending for our nerdy cicada, it raises an obvious question: Is it just by chance that they adopted 7, 11, or 13-year life cycles, or are those numbers somehow special?
