Ayant toujours été passionné par la photographie dont je collectionne les livres et les revues depuis mon adolescence, j'ai eu le bonheur de travailler comme directeur artistique avec de très grands photographes et cela fait 35 ans que j'ai un appareil en permanence avec moi. D'abord un un Zorki, puis plus tard un Leica avant de passer au numérique. Je pratiquais la photographie de rue et de mon quotidien, au gré de mes voyages et de mes déambulations dans les villes, mais je n'ai jamais rien montré pendant des décennies. Je n'exposais que mes dessins et mes peintures. A tort ou à raison, j'accordais moins d'importance à la photo. D'où vous vient cette prédilection pour les animaux avec lesquels vous êtes, si l'on peut dire « sorti du bois » ? Pourquoi cette exclusivité du noir et blanc ? Quels sont vos projets en chantier ? As of October 2014, Jullien took leave of his adopted home of London to go and live and work in New York. During his nine years in the UK, the French graphic designer's work had also begun to shift around and search out new places, from animation to product design. CGI and Shibari: FKA twigs' new video for Pendulum. FKA twigs has released the video for Pendulum, which she has directed herself.
The video references the Japanese bondage style shibari and also sees the singer almost swallowed by a CGI sea, in a series of mesmerising scenes... The January issue of Creative Review features an interview with FKA twigs, in which she discusses her work as a director and artist. The singer has recently signed to production company Academy Films' A+ roster, and as well as directing her own videos, has shot a promotional film for Google Glass, shown here, in which she stars.
