CNN-IBN | 20-Dec 12:32 PM New Delhi: External Affairs Minister SM Krishna assured Parliament on Tuesday that India has registered its protest to the Russian government on a petition seeking a ban on Bhagvad Gita in a Siberian court. Welcoming Krishna's statement Sushma Swaraj, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and Leader of Opposition, said that merely asking the Russian authorities to act in the case was not enough. "The Government should work towards removing the ban from Gita and should announce Bhagvad Gita the national book," said Sushma. While making a statement on the controversy Krishna said, "Our Embassy has intervened on the matter. The Embassy in Moscow is in regular touch with the lawyers in the case."
