Snapped in Grotfjord in Norway, the beams of colour radiate above a range of hills, heightening their dramatic appearance of a bird taking flight. This unique sight was captured by Arctic photographer Bjorn Jorgensen who considers taking pictures of the Northern Lights to be his area of expertise. “I travel extensively in the area called "the green arctic", and photograph the wild and beautiful nature, the environment and the local life here north of the Arctic Circle,” he says on his website. Bjorn, who lives in Tromso, Norway, has spent the last decade of his life devoted to documenting the incredible Aurora Borealis phenomena.

We found out about our son 3 days prior to his birth and had just enough time to go shopping for things we hoped we needed (with frantic phone calls to siblings on what they got for their infants) and time to fly to Tennessee for his birth. On the 2nd day we entered the hospital to find 3 Sheriff's deputies with guns out who pushed us into a room and told us that we had to leave the county as the Tennessee Militia was marching on the hospital and death threats had come in against us and the birth mother.
