D.I.Y. Passport Cover. I haven’t done a sewing D.I.Y. project in a while so I thought I’d show how I make passport covers. I used to make these a lot but I kind of forgot about them for a while. However, since the holidays are coming up I thought I’d bring out my old gift giving (or stocking stuffer) patterns so I can have those ready for Christmas. I tweaked this pattern a little by adding some satin ribbon to keep the sleeve closed at all times + I think it’s just a really cute touch.

What you’ll need for this project: Sewing machine Cotton fabric (2 types) Fusible interfacing Ribbon Thread Scissors Homemade pattern Step 1: Cut the main part of your pattern to 8 ¾” x 6 ½” in size, and cut another piece of paper (the side flaps) to 2 ½” x 6 ½” in size. Step 2: Cut 1 main passport cover piece using your outer fabric and 2 flap pieces. …you’ll end up with this: Step 3: Cut the same pieces using your fusible interfacing.

Step 4: Cut 1 main passport cover piece using your lining fabric. Step 6: prepare your ribbon pieces. Raechel Myers | Finding My Feet | Sewing 101. , LOUNGE-Y. LOUNGE-Y The last time I made a pair of leggings with this pattern, they were a bit, um, flashy. This time around I opted for a really lounge-y grey rib knit. And I’ve pretty much been living in them around the apartment ever since. I knew they would never make it to an outfit post, giving the lounge factor. So I grabbed the tripod (and Henry, too) and documented them on a snowy morning. leggings handmade using Megan Nielsen’s Virginia pattern. Easy, affordable lace boot socks . how to-sday. Months ago, I kept seeing these boot socks all over Pinterest. They're completely perfect - crocheted, soft-looking, tall, and lined with just a hint of lace.

I thought they'd be perfect peeking out of a pair of boots, but alas, I can't justify £48 for a pair of socks - no matter how cute! Naturally, I decided to make my own, and I'm quite pleased with how they turned out (though I still wouldn't mind having that schmancy pair, either...)! P.S. DIY: Patterned Heart Tights. Okay, I'll admit, I'm a little smug about this project. I love how it turned out! Plus it's inexpensive and cheap, my favorite kind of project. Read more to see how to make your own patterned tights. Supplies: tights, acrylic paint, fabric medium, sponge paintbrush, heart punch, adhesive vinyl or contact paper. Step 1: Punch out a LOT of hearts (or any other shape) from a piece of adhesive vinyl or contact paper. I punched out a little more than 50 hearts from a couple of vinyl scraps. Step 2: Cut around each heart 'negative' (aka not the actual punched heart, but the hole it leaves behind). Step 3: Place your cut outs on your tights in whatever pattern you'd like.

Step 4: At some point, insert paper strips into your tights to keep the paint from bleeding through to the other side. Step 5: Apply your paint + fabric medium mixture (follow the directions on the fabric medium bottle) in a dabbing motion. Voila! FYI - these tights are from the $5 tight section at Target.

DIY Resin Cameo Necklace | Great Oak Circle, blog design, logo and print design, DIY blog. DIY Cameo Necklace…yes please! You will love making and wearing this funness! I actually have 100 things to say about making this project, but I will save those for the end. What you should focus on now is the brilliant finished product. I am so totally in love with it. And PS, I will be totally in style while I strut my stuff . Because I do make a habit of strutting my stuff pretty much all the time. You need ICE Resin (wouldn’t it be cool if I hadn’t cut off the package name in the photo) Round bezels, these are 17mm (buy them here) 2 images from the Graphics Fairy that I combined.

The origionals are here and here if you are savvy and want to make your own colors. Otherwise you have 2 options. But wait, you don’t have to download and size it, just download and open this word doc and print it on card stock. Aren’t they lovely. Once you print the document just trim a little around the leafy outside border. I made this for a 17mm item. So anyway my circle was a bit janky. Let dry overnight.
