Free Zigzag Lace Scarf Pattern. I wrote up the pattern for the red lace scarf I recently made with Araucania Nature Wool Chunky. I thought I would share it with you. The lace pattern is my variation of one I found in Beautiful Knitting Patterns by Gisela Klopper. It is also somewhat similar to the Flemish Block Lace pattern in Barbara Walker's A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns. Here it is. Enjoy! I figured we should get down to what you came here for – knitting. I made this hat for my friend Will‘s birthday. He is a fan of the robots and so am I. I should let you know that I based the pattern loosely on these mittens. This is a very subtle pattern. The hat will look plain until you look at it in good light, close up. I used Berroco Comfort in Liquorice 9734 throughout.

You’ll also need: 16″ US 10 circular needles, a tapestry needle, and stitch markers Gauge is 16 stitches & 20 rows in 4″ in st st Let’s start! Cast on 65 stitches. Now let’s start the robot pattern: If you prefer a chart, here you go! Robot should be done! Knit 5 more rounds. Now you’re going to start your decreases.

Finishing: Using a tapestry needle, pull the yarn through the last stitch into the inside of the hat and weave in. Now you have a ROBOT HAT! Feel free to use this for personal use. It just so happens to be my first guest post and I'm still a little shocked that it's here at Ucreate, one of my favorite blogs! A little bit about me.. I'm from a little town called Keller, Texas.

I'm a junior at Texas A&M University (whoop!). I'm working on my education degree and expect to be an elementary school teacher in just two short years. Watermark Tee Tutorial What I love about this project is that it's completely customizable. Inspired Entertaining: DIY Chalkboard Wine Glasses. Last month I got an email from one of those "deal of the day" websites featuring a very cute set of wine glasses with chalkboard stems from a company called Chalkboard China. I've seen chalkboard glasses before, and always thought them to be a fun and chic way for guests to keep track of their glass throughout the night so you don't end up with mixed-up glasses or dozens of half-full glasses left around the house.

But all the ones I've seen in stores feature a strip of chalkboard paint across the bowl of the glass, which I've always felt looks awkward and takes away from the beauty of the wine or beverage in the glass. What I like about this version is that the writing part is at the bottom on the stem and foot of the glass, so it doesn't compete with the beverage. I also like that the simple black foot on the glass is in itself an elegant design element, and would work just as well with no writing on it. So I figured, "I can totally make that myself!
