He is my favorite Swede, nay favorite person, in the entire world and he is trying his darndest to finish art school and stay in the U.S. Being a full-time college student, working the maximum amount of hours (for minimum wage) on his student visa and maintaining a 4.0 GPA every single semester have completely maxed out his energy and resources. This exhaustion paired with his passion for art and his education have pushed him to do something that he normally would never do: ask for help. Even having taken the maximum amount of loans available and having won several scholarships, Anders is unable to cover the amount of costs that his final years at the Corcoran College of Art + Design will incur.
Without the amount needed to maintain his F-1 Visa status, he will have to return to the cold-white-north of Sweden and will leave his years of work and his partner in life and crime (me) behind. Making this magazine has been such a valuable experience. The lessons learned, knowledge gained, and relationships cemented could never be replaced, and it’s a journey that I’ll remember forever.
