Continuing with the theme of measurable successes in education technology implementations that we’ve explored in a number of articles over the last few months, today we take a look at Project Red . Project RED conducted a national study of education technology focused on student achievement and financial implications. The coalition of three research organizations surveyed and studied nearly 1,000 schools and uncovered a replicable design for successfully introducing technology into the classroom, improving student performance, and yielding cost benefits. This exciting research endeavor developed 11 “success measures” and 22 independent measures and incorporated these into a survey tool that was central to the project’s effort to identify and prioritize the factors that make some U.S.

À la fin du mois d’avril, les élèves du Comité sur l’apprentissage de l’École secondaire De Rochebelle ont réalisé un sondage afin d’en savoir plus sur les pratiques d’utilisation des technologies des jeunes de leur âge. La population ciblée était composée de 390 élèves et l’échantillon analysé est de 284 individus (questionnaires valides). Les questions ont entièrement été composées par des jeunes de secondaire un et deux. Ils ont aussi fait passer le questionnaire, en plus de saisir et compiler les données.

Last night, I attended a gathering of some of the smartest technology minds focusing on Education for grades K-12. I didn’t know what to expect, other than Newark Mayor Cory Booker and LinkedIn ‘s Founder and Chairman Reid Hoffman being there to listen to seven companies from the ImagineK12 startup incubator in Palo Alto. In a small office within the Palo Alto aol building, teams with big hearts (and sometimes very nervously) discussed their views on the future of Education for children all over the world.À l'extérieur des grands centres urbains, les entreprises ont de plus en plus de difficultés à recruter de jeunes travailleurs qualifiés et c'est particulièrement préoccupant dans le domaine des sciences et de la technologie. Afin de participer à la mise en place de solutions, un groupe d'employeurs de la région met sur pied une activité gratuite visant à intéresser les étudiants du secondaire aux carrières technologiques. Sous le titre «Accro de la techno», l'activité présentera différentes applications des sciences et de la technologie ainsi que de nombreux exemples de tâches technologiques au sein d'entreprises régionales. Dans le but de fournir une information diversifiée, une quinzaine d'ateliers et de kiosques sont mis sur pied, couvrant des sujets aussi variés que l'électronique, l'optique, la robotique, l'informatique et les statistiques industrielles.

Un enseignant de la commission scolaire de la Pointe-de-l'île a transformé sa classe en véritable laboratoire de médias sociaux. Dans le but de mieux familiariser les jeunes aux utilités des réseaux sociaux, Pierre Poulin, de l'école Wilfrid-Bastien à Saint-Léonard enseigne sa classe de sixième année qui est à la fine pointe de la technologie. «Ce serait bête de se priver de ces outils-là. Moi et mes collègues, on trouve qu'il y a une fonctionnalité, il y a quelque chose à explorer», explique l'enseignant.l’éducation autrement – Vue politique
10 février 2012 10h33 · Mario Asselin J’en suis à ma troisième participation à l’événement qui regroupe à Clair , au Nouveau-Brunswick, des centaines d’éducateurs préoccupés par l’innovation et l’éducation. Je suis de très près ce qui se passe dans cette toute petite école près de la vallée du Témiscouata (Cabano, Pohénégamook, etc.) où d’ailleurs, j’avais référé une journaliste de La Presse en 2008 qui cherchait l’endroit le plus branché au Canada en éducation . L’idée d’un colloque au Centre d’apprentissage du Haut-Madawaska est née d’une simple discussion entre moi et le directeur de cette école, Roberto Gauvin.
