The Australian Library and Information Association is the national professional organisation for the Australian library and information services sector. Together we seek to empower the profession through the development, promotion and delivery of quality library and information services to the nation, through leadership, advocacy and mutual professional support. We are governed by a constitution and guided by our vision, mission, objects and values. Our policy statements are developed by our elected Board of Directors and implemented by ALIA staff based in Canberra and in every state and territory.
The Association supports a number of special interest or geographical-based member groups to represent the Association more broadly at a local level.
