When Office 2010 launched, Microsoft made the questionable decision to only include Business Contact Manager (BCM) with the Volume License suites of Office 2010 (Standard and Professional Plus). This decision left out all the people who are using BCM in a standalone environment or in an environment which needs less than 5 Office 2010 licenses.
Microsoft has reconsidered this decision and has now made BCM 2010 available as a free add-in. There is a catch though; you must already have a license of a qualifying previous version (2003 or 2007) to be entitled to get BCM for Outlook 2010. This means that if you want to get started with BCM 2010 but do not own a previous license for it, you’ll still need to obtain a Volume License version of the Office 2010 suite to be able to use it legally.

Defragger. A defragger is a utility that ensures files on disk are in one contiguous chunk. A defragger may also position files on disk so that frequently used files get prime real estate. The outermost tracks (beginning of the disk) have faster transfer rate because they are longer, and hence pack more data per revolution. They are also faster because they are near the prime OS (Operating System) system areas where the heads tend to hover over.
Ideally it would order files by last access date, perhaps weighted by frequency of use statistics. Windows has an official NTFS (New Technology File System) defrag interface. Defraggers don’t move exclusively locked files. You can help your defraggers along by putting your system proper on a partition to itself C:, your scratch space on D:, volatile data on E:, your programs on F: and your attic of rarely accessed collected programs and files and backups on G:. The System Restore feature in Windows Vista is very important to keep enabled, what with all the problems Vista users are having with compatibility. Even so, the disk usage can get out of hand if you install a large amount of software. Update: We’ve also covered how to limit system restore’s disk usage in Windows 7. The utility to change the settings is a command line utility called vssadmin. You’ll have to open a command prompt in administrator mode by entering cmd into the start menu and hitting Ctrl+Shift+Enter, or right-clicking the command prompt and selecting Run as Administrator. Show Allocated System Restore Size Type in the following command into the prompt: vssadmin list shadowstorage As you can see in the screenshot, System Restore is taking up 2.2 GB on my system.. and I just reinstalled! Remove Old Drivers After Upgrading to New Hardware. If you are experiencing weird issues after upgrading your hardware, or you’ve just upgraded to the latest hardware device and aren’t seeing the performance you’d like, you might want to remove the old drivers which are still installed for the old hardware, even though you can’t normally see them in device manager. What you have to do is set a less-known flag to allow you to see non-present devices, and then launch device manager. You’ll then see the old devices in the list, and can uninstall the drivers for them. In Windows 7 or Vista, the first thing you’ll need to do is open a command prompt in administrator mode. Type cmd into the start menu search box, and then use Ctrl+Shift+Enter to open in administrator mode.
