Popaganda

One of the most prolific and recognizable artists alive today, Ron English has bombed the global landscape with unforgettable images, on the street, in museums, in movies, books and television. English coined the term POPaganda to describe his signature mash-up of high and low cultural touchstones, from superhero mythology to totems of art history, populated with his vast and constantly growing arsenal of original characters, including MC Supersized, the obese fast-food mascot featured in the hit movie “Supersize Me,” and Abraham Obama, the fusion of America’s 16th and 44th Presidents, an image widely discussed in the media as directly impacting the 2008 election. Other characters carousing through English’s art, in paintings, billboards, and sculpture include three-eyed rabbits, udderly delicious cowgirls and grinning skulls, blending stunning visuals with the bitingly humorous undertones of America’s Premier Pop Iconoclast. http://www.popaganda.com/blog1.php

Never Be My Friend - My Modern Metropolis

Illustrator Adam Ellis can be your best friend or your worst enemy. When he's bored, he browses through his friends' Facebook photos, chooses his favorites and then proceeds to draw them. "Sometimes I take... liberties. Let's just call it artistic license," says Ellis. He calls this funny series: "Never Be My Friend."

Afremov Arts Auctions | Online Art Auction and Art Gallery for limited editon prints and original oil paintings - Leonid Afremov.

http://afremov.com/ Leonid Afremov was born in city of Vitebsk in 1955. Amazingly enough Leonid was born in the same town as Marc Chagall, the famous artist who also founded the Vitebsk Art School along with Malevich & Kandinsky. Leonid Afremov graduated from Vitebsk Art School in 1978 and is one of the elite members. As he said, he tried different techniques during his career, but he especially fell in love with painting with oil and palette-knife. Every artwork is the result of long painting process; every canvas is born during the creative search; every painting is full of his inner world.

PostSecret

I was a go-go dancer in college because I felt suicidal and hated myself and instead it saved me. People consider stripping or gogo dancing an ugly thing but in a way it's sensual and made me feel beautiful again. I was happy when I quit and moved on. They had called me asking to come back and I told them "thank you" but that I found what I'd been looking for. http://postsecret.com/
