Do you mind if i knit: Some basics in crochet for you, before I start showing you the pattern for the sisterhood crochet blanket squares. Hello! Nice to see you! Today I'm starting on the marathon explanation of my crochet square. I"m going to start with the basics, for new crocheters. I thought there might be some out there who would like to take up crochet, but aren't sure where to start.

So this post covers a few basic stitches that will be needed when crocheting my square. I'll do the full explanation of my pattern in my next post. You've got your yarn in your left hand. Take the yarn that you are holding in your right hand and bring it up and over as above. Pick up your hook in your right hand, and poke it through the loop. Now pull that bit of yarn you hooked, through the loop, towards you. You've pulled it up, and now............... Holding on to the yarn in your right hand, pull at the yarn in your left hand.

Pull the yarn untill the loop on the end of your crochet hook tightens into a knot, (but not too tight, you want it to be able to move along the hook). Like this. You see how I've pulled it through the loop? The TeePee! Last year I promised Elsie a teepee for Christmas but with more on my plate than I anticipated (duh! This happens EVERY year) she and Jeremy had to settle for an embroidered teepee! This year I was scheming to get it done before Christmas so she could enjoy the twinkly lights and coziness a little early. There were many occasions when I had to bite my tongue so I wouldn't let my excitement slip and I didn't want to let her know I was hoping to make one in case something else came up and I couldn't finish in time. The evening before I knew I'd have it finished for sure, I had Brett call Jeremy to make sure it didn't look suspicious in case Elsie were around. I've had more than a few people ask for a tutorial on this teepee but I didn't take step by step pictures so the best I can share is the process I went through to get what I got.

I decided on the 8' poles because I knew I wanted a large teepee but you can always cut them down. Your front panel will have a different measurement. Light Switch Time Capsule. For sake of simplicity, we will use anger as the target emotion to overcome. Why Do We Feel Like Crap? Anger doesn’t feel very good.

If you want to delve into it, where do you begin?

Here are some ideas. To you from me, Pinky Lee! Make lists of reasons why you love yourself… & write down (or keep mental lists) of the compliments other people give you. We’re so quick to believe people when they say nasty, unkind or “brutally honest” (ahem, cruel) things to or about us, & we discard all the times we’re told how amazing, beautiful or intelligent we are.

Usually this is because our sense of self-doubt is stronger than our self-love. Reach out to others… …& do it regularly. Think of a way you could make your life easier — then do it. Change the way you think about food. Stretch in the mornings. Really listen to people when they are speaking. Have media black-out days. Have that “awkward” conversation. Read through the results when you search Tumblr for “love yourself”… & be proud at the way this generation — YOUR GENERATION — is shaping up. Ask for help.
