Affinity diagram » UID11

We have spent quite some time to elaborate it as it is the solid foundation of our two concepts. All the ideas presented are based on our findings from interviews, workshops and research in general. A few basic, yet important principles we would like to share in creating affinity diagram are that one should keep track of the sources in some way to check the generalizability, that one has to give enough time before settle for groups–and this is when you as team use creativity–, and finally that one shall form sentences for each group before giving names. All these might seem trivial, but we believe these helped us tremendously come up with our final concept. We made a replica of it for the future references. The original affinity diagram on the left and the replica on the right. Giving all they want won’t help you help them Caregivers have to take care of themselves in order to take care of patients or rehabilitants. You are what you eat. Take a look below or download it here. This document contains lessons learned from the four labs that existed at the time of writing, and has informed some of the new labs that are coming online at the end of 2012 (for example, the exciting collaboration with IIT Delhi in India.) Potential future Head of Lab, Khartoum, Sudan (Photo: Panthea Lee) This guide also has the worksheets, budgeting documents and Terms-of-References that you could use to structure your own lab or innovation initiative. The document and all its resources are open source (CC-By-SA) and will be updated as we have capacity. Bon Voyage! Like this: Like Loading...

Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) « Love to learn

During the next two weeks the main foucs will be a hands on approach through a user centered development process for a GUI concept. The course is being taught by Alex Wiethoff (CIID) and Neils Clausen-Stuck. Neils worked as a senior interaction designer at IDEO for 7 years up intill joining Kontrapunkt in 2008. The course will be broken into two, with Half being a series of short exercises and lectures that will look into key aspects, contexts, history, applications and limiting factors that influence the design of GUI and the other half will be developing a concept with an application specific GUI that offers value in the elderly care space.

The ideas that we develop will be based on the insights we gained last week whilst doing user research in elderly homes around Copenhagen. Why are we designing for elderly care? Yesterday we kicked of this GUI block with a very informative lecture of the history of GUI.
