Cycle your way to clean laundry with the Bike Washing Machine. Master multitaskers find creative ways to maximise time efficiency by doing seemingly unrelated things all at once – a little like the Bike Washing Machine, which does your laundry, hosts your home workout, conserves energy, saves space, and brings a smile to your face.

Since technological advancements are so often born out of human necessity, the Bike Washing Machine aims to check a whole lot of problems off the list, with just one home appliance. The idea seems to be that you would buy the Bike Washing Machine instead of any other washing machine. That way, you have to hop on the bike every time you need to do the laundry, creating some sense of a regular exercise schedule – it seems like the Bike Washing Machine is geared towards the more exercise averse among us. The power system has thus been met with doubts, considering the cycle only spins as fast as you pedal instead of a more complex energy conversion.

At this stage the Bike Washing Machine is only in concept phase. How To Build A Bicycle Generator. The intention of this project is to build a straight forward human powered generator from a used bicycle and to use it to power light bulbs, blenders, cell phones, laptops, and other small appliances. This project will help one develop engineering skills while learning about a clean way of generating electricity.

The project was created as part of Infrastructure Academy's environmental technology curriculum for high school students, so it is intended to be both achievable and affordable. Before continuing with the actual bicycle generator, one should understand how it works, and the components that make it up. View the PowerPoint presentation before moving on to the next step. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Parts Tools Note: The bicycle generator could be accomplished by skipping steps 5, 6, 7, and 8, to save money, but connecting anything other than a halogen lamp directly to the motor is not recommended due to the varying voltages.

Freebie Friday: Cozy Crocheted Slipper Boots | SMP Craft. 1 Nov Sarah Goldstein With Thanksgiving around the corner, the holidays just beyond that, and winter starting to creep around the edges of Fall, I’m feeling the need to find ways to get cozy and hunker down for winter.

Some of my favorite winter treats to indulge in are: hot chocolate, sleeping under a down comforter, sticking oranges full of cloves… and pulling my cozier pair of slippers out of the closet. With these thoughts in mind, I’ve decided that my next crochet project will be a pair of cozy slipper boots. I found a great pattern in one of the books on my bookshelf at work and I can’t wait to give it a try. Anyone want to try it along with me? :-) If you do click below to download the project for free… and stop back here afterwards and post pictures! A Man Pours Glowing Goo Into Rotten Wood. The Results? Out Of This World! What happens when you pour clear goo mixed with glow powder into rotting wood? Well, if a Bulgarian kitty is a around, you get a bright blue cat. If you’re Mike Warren, the mind behind the Man Crafts column at dollarstorecrafts.com, you can make something beautiful that will literally light up your next dinner party. Warren decided to utilize the natural grooves in pecky cypress hardwood, and then he got the otherworldly idea to fill them with a glow-in-the-dark concoction of photoluminescent (AKA glow) powder and clear casting resin.

The result? Ethereal, glowing blue pools of cool. How did he do it? Check out the step-by-step process below and be sure to watch the video at the bottom to see Mike Warren’s incredible work. H/t: Instructables/Colossal Step One: Prep the wood Step 2: Make the holes Warren specifically used a type of wood called “pecky cypress.” Step three: Sand the surface Make it purdy and smooth! Step five: Pour in the goo!!! Step six: Let resin cure Step seven: Do a glow test. Jackson Rogue Touring Kayak - Jackson from NorthShore Watersports UK. One boat with two distinctly different personalities. Designed to be the quiver of one for the paddler whose appetite for river adventure is a bit more sampler platter than main course. Versatility is the calling card of the Rogue thanks to a hull shape designed to expertly bridge the opposing performance characteristics of being fast on flatwater while nimble in whitewater.

Transitioning from light touring down meandering rivers to Class II-III whitewater is this Rogue's calling card. The Basics: Jackson Kayak designs have made our whitewater kayaks #1. There is exceptional history behind the craftsmanship of in-house designer Tony Lee. From a materials standpoint, we use the same plastic resin in our touring kayaks as we do for our most hardcore whitewater kayaks. The Rogue’s reason for being is to give paddlers a drier, more stable, stronger and supremely comfortable ride for longer treks and overnighters in a diversity of paddling conditions. I have some sad news: this is my last summer dessert of the year. Now I have some happy news: because for me, unlike the calendar, Autumn starts September 1st, next week will begin the celebration of fall’s arrival.

That’s right. Get ready for pumpkins and pecans! But first a few moments of reflection on Summer’s recipe highlights. As a brand new blog (4 months old) I have been very excited about some of the recipes that have emerged from this project. DIY Ice Cream Sundae Bar: The components: Caramel Sauce Chocolate Ganache Chocolate Whipped Cream Candied Pecans Vanilla Bean Ice Cream Bananas Cherries Caramel Saucemakes about 1 cup 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup water 1 tbsp corn syrup 1/2 cup soy creamer or coconut milk Have all your ingredients measured out and within reach before you begin. Place sugar, water, and corn syrup in a very clean medium sized (at least 2 quarts) pot over high heat and bring to a boil.

Whisk until combined. Chocolate Ganachemakes about 1 cup Candied Pecans Vanilla Ice Cream. Raw Lemon Curd | My Darling Vegan. Last week I made some good progress on the raw desserts ebook by completing two more recipes. Very exciting! The process of creating recipes is a chaotic one, especially for me. This is not an unusual method when taking notes: And in the middle of dehydrating tart shells, freezing shortbread, testing lemon bars, making streusel, and developing a raw pastry cream through the inevitable process of trial and error, I found myself with an unused batch of raw lemon curd. The timing couldn’t have been better since I was just about to make a Lemon Pound Cake for Eden’s first birthday and was not to enthused about the idea of complicating my already complicated baking life by introducing another recipe to the madness.

And the lemon curd was a great counterpart to the sweet, rich pound cake iced with cream cheese frosted. Raw Lemon Curdmakes about 2 cups Drain and rinse cashews. Or you could just eat it with a spoon. What is your favorite use for Lemon Curd? You might also like: Replacing Eggs. Raw nutella | My Darling Vegan. Eden hates my Vitamix. This makes it a bit hard to enjoy this awesome machine I finally purchased.

It all started with this recipe. Sitting in her highchair enjoying a banana, her peaceful world was suddenly interrupted with the deafening sound of the Vitamix’s SERIOUS motor grinding nuts into butter. In a second her face turned red, tears streaming down her cheeks as she struggled for breath. The next time I tried holding her. We went through a short “cry it out phase” which lasted less than 10 seconds. Now she cries when she sees me washing the blender’s container or wiping down the lid. I really don’t know what I’m going to do about this.

At least I managed to make this RAW Nutella. Raw Nutella 1 cup hazelnuts, soaked for 8-10 hours ¼ cup raw agave or maple syrup 1 tsp vanilla extract ¼ tsp sea salt ¼ cup raw cacao powder 2-4 tbsp raw almond milk* Drain and rinse hazelnuts and place in food processor or high-powered blender. Visit Chernobyl and Pripyat: Nuclear disaster tourism in Ukraine | LosApos.com. On April 26, 1986, Reactor number 4 at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, located in Ukraine, exploded. Nearly nine tons of radioactive materials - 90 times as much as the Hiroshima bomb - were hurled into the sky. The explosion took place at around one in the morning while the neighboring town of Pripyat slept. Only forty hours later, the residents of Pripyat were ordered to evacuate, and most never returned. The exclusion zone of 30 km (19 mi) that was set up around the reactor is still in place today. Pripyat palace of culture (Photo by Tim Suess) The accident happened during unauthorized reactor tests.
