I en jämförelse med de andra länderna i EU visar det sig att Sveriges ungdomsarbetslöshet ligger över EU27-snittet. Bland de länder som har den lägsta siffran för ungdomsarbetslösheten återfinns exempelvis Tyskland och Nederländerna. I dessa länder är enbart runt en tiondel av alla ungdomar som aktivt söker arbete arbetslösa.
