Wolfgang Laib - Artists - Sperone Westwater Gallery

Disillusioned with Western medicine, he came to view the natural sciences, as well as most other modern thinking, as limited for their dependency on logic and the material world. His search led him to Eastern spiritualism, philosophy and pre-Renaissance thought. Since 1975, Laib has worked exclusively as an artist and has built an international reputation. The Art of Walking: A Field Guide - All Books

Combining short texts on the subject with a variety of artists work, The Art of Walking provides a new way of looking at this everyday subject. The introduction relates peripatetic art now to a wide range of historic precedents, and is followed by a series of visually led ‘Walks’ dealing with seven overlapping themes: footprints and lines; writers and philosophers; marches and processions; aliens, dandies and drifters; slapstick; studios, museums and biennales; and dog walkers. The guide includes newly commissioned art and writing, and many artists have been actively involved in the design of their respective pages. WHITE ELEPHANT

Hi my Name is Sipho Mabona and I'm professional origami artist. I've had the opportunity to show my work in galleries and museums all around the world. My pieces mostly focus on large-scale installations. As an ultimate prove that there are no limits to what can be made out of a uncut square piece of paper I plan to fold a life-size replica of an elephant.

Over the course of several weeks the monumental sculpture will be folded at the Art Museum in Beromünster, Switzerland. Using a sheet measuring 15 by 15 meters (50 by 50 feet), we will create an elephant standing more than 3 meters (10 feet) tall. Let me quickly sum up what your funding contribution will help us with: The production of a 125 sqm or 2500 sqft sheet of paperThe support structure to ensure the sculpture will stand upright. Allow me to introduce the work of Philippe Grammaticopoulos, a French director working with the somewhat mysterious production company Mr.

Hyde in Paris. Philippe has also somehow managed to evade the Motionographer radar until now, which comes as a massive shock to me after seeing the long list of his wonderful animations. His stylistic approach and animation techniques are truly unique, but for me his off-beat, strange storytelling is what makes him stand apart from the rest. His newest animation, Les Ventres (“The Bellies”) caught our attention when it hit our inboxes last week.

Take a look at this bizarre four minute tail four minute clip from the 18 minute short about snails, glut and self-consumption. Seeing how we missed out on all the great work the this fine director has released over the years, here’s more of his work, all of which is worth viewing. Google.
