If you use and have to use 2 lanyards which makes no sense it is a "company policy" and is not osha mandated. 2 lanyards is great if your not clipped into the same attachment point and if you arent attached to the same attachment point then it severely limits your movement if your using a standard lanyard seeing that the MAX length of a lanyard is 3-4 ft i believe unless using a retractable lanyard which weighs around 25 pounds.
And you sound like a pencil pusher so id really enjoy watching you carry your body weight, 40lbs of tools and gear, and an extra 50 lbs of gear straight up just 100ft. So that makes no sense. There are thousands of linemen and people who work towers and similar jobs who would more likely laugh in your face and give you the finger than their job that i and they love.
