http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meson In particle physics , mesons ( / ˈ m iː z ɒ n z / or / ˈ m ɛ z ɒ n z / ) are hadronic subatomic particles composed of one quark and one antiquark , bound together by the strong interaction . Because mesons are composed of sub-particles, they have a physical size, with a radius roughly one femtometre, which is about 2 ⁄ 3 the size of a proton or neutron. All mesons are unstable, with the longest-lived lasting for only a few hundredths of a microsecond. Charged mesons decay (sometimes through intermediate particles) to form electrons and neutrinos .

Primitivism is the pursuit of ways of life running counter to the development of technology, its alienating antecedents, and the ensemble of changes wrought by both. This site is an exploration into primitivist theory, as well as various works that contribute to an understanding of the tendency.

Squaring the circle: the areas of this square and this circle are equal. In 1882, it was proven that this figure cannot be constructed in a finite number of steps with an idealized compass and straightedge . Some apparent partial solutions gave false hope for a long time. In this figure, the shaded figure is the Lune of Hippocrates . Its area is equal to the area of the triangle ABC (found by Hippocrates of Chios ). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squaring_the_circle#The_Archimedes_solution

Patriarch - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Originally, a patriarch was a man who exercised autocratic authority as a pater familias over an extended family . The system of such rule of families by senior males is termed patriarchy . This is a Greek word, a compound of πατριά ( patria ), "lineage, progeny", esp. by the father's side [ 1 ] (which derives from the word πατήρ – patēr meaning "father" [ 2 ] ) and ἄρχων ( archon ) meaning "leader", "chief", "ruler", "king", etc. [ 3 ] [ 4 ] [ 5 ] Abraham , Isaac , and Jacob are referred to as the three patriarchs of the people of Israel , and the period during which they lived is termed the Patriarchal Age . It originally acquired its religious meaning in the Septuagint version of the Bible . [ 6 ]

Father insists alleged leader of attack on WTC is still alive | World news | The Guardian

The father of Mohammed Atta, the alleged ringleader of the September 11 attacks, said in an interview published yesterday that his son was still alive. "He is hiding in a secret place so as not to be murdered by the US secret services," Mohammed el-Amir Atta, 66, told the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag. He also vehemently denied that his son - believed to have flown the first plane into the World Trade Centre - had taken part in the atrocities, blaming them instead on "American Christians". The interview painted a picture of a tortured man who has not come to terms with his 33-year-old son's death or with the huge crime laid at his door. He said he feared the US would try to poison him. Speaking from his Cairo home, Mr Atta described hearing about the attacks after returning from a holiday on the Red Sea on the evening of September 12.

Moral relativism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Moral relativism may be any of several descriptive, meta-ethical , or normative positions. Each of them is concerned with the differences in moral judgments across different people and cultures: Descriptive relativism describes the way things are, without suggesting a way they ought to be. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moral_relativism
Moral relativism may be any of several philosophical positions concerned with the differences in moral judgments across different people and cultures . Descriptive moral relativism holds only that some people do in fact disagree about what is moral; meta-ethical moral relativism holds that in such disagreements, nobody is objectively right or wrong; and normative moral relativism holds that because nobody is right or wrong, we ought to tolerate the behavior of others even when we disagree about the morality of it. Not all descriptive relativists adopt meta-ethical relativism, and moreover, not all meta-ethical relativists adopt normative relativism. Richard Rorty , for example, argued that relativist philosophers believe "that the grounds for choosing between such opinions is less algorithmic than had been thought," but not that any belief is equally as valid as any other.
