To make your own you will need a Dremel, 11 to 12 CDs or DVDs, you will need 4/5 more disks than the height of your iPhone charging connector on the USB cable. Mark out the width of the silver connector that goes into your iPhone on the center of one of the CDs. Cool miniature stove. [VIDEO] How to Build a Car Mount for Your Cellphone from Office Supplies. How To Mix Chalkboard Paint in Any Color.

We love using chalkboards as backdrops for displays and parties (like this one here!). So we were super excited to learn that you can create your own custom colors-and it's really easy! We first learned how from Martha Stewart whose tutorial you can read here. She recommends that you use latex paint, but we tried it out with acrylic paints with much success. Here's how you too can create your own chalkboard paint... Supplies: 1/2 cup acrylic paint (choose any color you like, or mix colors together to make the perfect shade!) , 1 tablespoon unsanded grout (this can be purchased at most hardware/home improvement stores, we got ours at Home Depot), mixing cup or bowl, spoon, paint brush and an object or board you plan to paint on. 1. 2. Once your chalkboard has fully dried be sure to slate the surface before using it for the first time.

To wear something that was once alive, that holds within it still this life, is not the same as to wear a piece of metal that has been mined from the earth.

Discover a collection of beautiful rings made from salvaged and found wood! There have many unique rings throughout history: the Lord of the Rings, Johnny Cash’s ring of fire, and of course, the annoying ring around the collar. But I’ve stumbled upon an online store that sells handcrafted wooden rings, and these rings definitely make a stylish and environmentally conscious statement.

Simply Wood Rings is an amazing store that sells a variety of wooden rings. Why wood? The website says, “For us, wooden rings are a celebration of life. Most of the wood comes from a variety of salvaged and recycled wooden products, such as a customer’s old violin or baseball bat. So, want to see a few of the rings? All photos from simplywoodrings These wooden rings are a great alternative to traditional silver and gold rings. Share this with Your Friends. DIY Photo Light Box // Take Better Photos! | Ninth and Bird. One thing I've learned during my blogging adventures: You eat with your eyes first! Photography is everything when trying to capture a tutorial for your readers, or make your products look desirable on Etsy.com. And what's the most important part? Lighting! Follow this little tutorial to make your own Photo Light Box for the perfect lighting. Cut a border of 2 inches on each side of the tri-fold display board (the two sides and the back). Make the front of the box (the part you'll take photos from) have a one inch border.

Use the pieces you've cut out to add a bottom to the light box (or if you started with a cardboard box instead of a tri-fold display board, you won't need to do that). Use a ruler and an exacto knife to make straight edges. Use masking tape to attach the two pieces to form a box. Finally, cover the two sides and the back with white muslin fabric, attaching it with masking tape. Ta-Dah! HOW TO: Create a Home Made Wax Seal (16 Pics) Dream Big Butterfly Window - Resin Craft | Pretty Handy Girl. Phew, what a week. I’ve been working on about 5 different projects simultaneously. The biggest accomplishment this week was my screened porch makeover. I have been itching to make it an outdoor living and relaxing room for about 4 years now. Well, it is about 95% done.

One of the projects I completed for the porch was an old curbside window that I turned into a unique piece of art using a product that ETI sent me. I have to admit, I was a little scared of the EnviroTex Lite. The utility lighter was more within my comfort level. My beautiful butterfly window started out looking like this: Someone was throwing away these old windows. Pouring the Resin: What do you think? Framing three of my favourite quotes on my $0 budget. As you know, I am one week into my month of not spending and it is going extremely well. I have only been to one store and that was to do some groceries. I only bought fresh fruit and veggies, milk, and bread...ok that is not 100% true...I also bought a bag of chips. I know chips aren't a necessity, but that is my vice. I don't drink alcohol or coffee, not because it is bad for you, I hate the taste.

I will try better next week ;) On to my $0 budget post! I have a small wall in my ensuite bathroom that has always seemed bare. Well, I was digging through some boxes that have never been unpacked since we moved in almost 2 years ago and I found three matching panoramic frames. After pulling out the wonderful photos and touching up some minor scuffs with my amazingly handy Sharpie, I decided I would frame three of our favorite quotes. I found a piece of scrapbook paper (12 x12 inch) that matched my bathroom and the frames perfectly. Total cost $0!!

DIY Dixie Cup Garland :: Hey Gorgeous. Aug 10 Cuteness alert coming right at you, but how fun is this little DIY project, guys? I found the original inspiration on Pinterest (the ‘lamp shades’ were covered in Hallowe’en hued paper) but figured I’d give it a go using my fave hues. Wouldn’t this garland be absolutely fabulous for a bridal shower, an outdoor wedding and or even the most perfect addition to a nursery in lieu of a night light?

Check out the awesome step by step photos below shot by the always wonderful Jenna. Craft on, beauties! {Step 1} Carefully cut apart a Dixie cup and smooth it out so it is as flat as possible. Trace the smoothed out cup carefully onto a piece of paper to make your Dixie cup shade template. {Step 2} Using double sided tape, adhere one end of a shade cover to a Dixie cup. Like so! {Step 3} Using a pencil (or you can just eyeball it) you’ll make an X on the bottoms of the Dixie cups. I only made a select number of shades for the purpose of the photos here but you get the idea. COLD FORGING A KNIFE FROM A NAIL. Build a Thumb Piano - Step-by-Step Guides for Offbeat DIY Projects.
