Mango Business

http://www.pcarrd.dost.gov.ph/CIN/mango/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1169: This is the major conclusion of a Philippine Research Team which recently visited Hong Kong for mango trade related mission in connection with the ongoing research project on “Analysis of the Price System and Trade Related Concerns in Philippine Mango”. The team, composed of Prof. Wilfred Jamandre of the Central Luzon State University (CLSU), Ernesto Brown of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCARRD), and two prominent mango exporters to Hong Kong, Benjamin Go and Manuel Lucente, observed that Hong Kong people are fond of eating fresh fruits as part of their daily healthy eating habit. More than twenty different kinds of fruits, practically all of which are imported, can be found in the Hong Kong markets. The United States has the largest market share (38%) of the Hong Kong market, while mainland China and Australia combined with New Zealand occupy the second and third positions (19% and 14% shares), respectively.
