I have been using Ubuntu alongside Windows for a number of years now. Ubuntu has come a long way and it is now a very popular and stable Linux operating system. I installed Ubuntu as my second operating system with Windows as the primary operating system.

You can download the Ubuntu 13.04 ISO image and burn it into a DVD. Once that is done, boot your computer from the DVD to start the installation process. I highly recommend burning a copy of the boot-repair-disk to go along with your Ubuntu 13.04 because there is always a risk that you could mess up the boot section of your computer and end up with a computer that can’t boot to any operating system. boot-repair-disk has saved my ass many times and I wouldn’t know what to do without it.

The Windows XP Page File Performance is always an issue when dealing with computers. We tend to think of major items such as processor speed, amount of installed RAM and the graphics card when talking about how fast a computer performs.

It's true those components do play a large role in performance, but one item that can substantially impact overall performance that doesn't get nearly the amount of attention as the more well known components is the paging file. The paging file is very closely related to the physical RAM installed in the computer. Its purpose is to extend the amount of physical RAM and make it available to the system. Both services and installed applications can benefit from this 'extra' RAM, even though it is substantially different from the sticks that plug into the motherboard. Not all that long ago 32 to 64 megabytes (MB) of RAM was considered a huge amount for a personal computer.

The paging file (Pagefile.sys) is a hidden file on your computer's hard disk that Windows XP uses as if it were random access memory (RAM). The paging file and physical memory make up virtual memory. By default, Windows stores the paging file on the boot partition (the partition that contains the operating system and its support files). The default paging file size is equal to 1.5 times the total RAM. However, this default configuration may not be optimal in all cases. To enhance performance, it is good practice to put the paging file on a different partition and on a different physical hard disk drive.

However, if you remove the paging file from the boot partition, Windows cannot create a dump file (Memory.dmp) in which to write debugging information in the event that a kernel mode Stop Error message occurs. When you put a paging file on its own partition, the paging file does not become fragmented, and this counts as another definite advantage. Applies to.
