The State of Rendering – Part 1

This part deals with the rendering trends in the VFX industry today. Part 2 includes a run down of 14 of the most popular renderers for VFX. Many of the issues in this special two part series will also be covered in more depth in the July term at fxphd.com. Security-Vision-Systems Líderes en tecnología de cámaras de red En poco tiempo MOBOTIX ha conquistado el 2º puesto en Europa y el 4º en el ránking mundial en cuotas de mercado.

Bienvenido a MOBOTIX

3-D Printing Will Change the World. To anyone who hasn’t seen it demonstrated, 3-D printing sounds futuristic—like the meals that materialized in the Jetsons’ oven at the touch of a keypad.

3-D Printing Will Change the World

But the technology is quite straightforward: It is a small evolutionary step from spraying toner on paper to putting down layers of something more substantial (such as plastic resin) until the layers add up to an object. And yet, by enabling a machine to produce objects of any shape, on the spot and as needed, 3-D printing really is ushering in a new era. Fotogrametria. Build A Quadcopter From Scratch - Hardware Overview. In this article I will be talking about quadcopter components and how to choose them. This is part of the tutorial series on how to build a quadcopter. In the next post I will be talking about software, how to go about the algorithm and programming. If you are planning on building a quadcopter but not sure how, this is the right place for you.

Doing research is pretty boring, so I am trying to put together a comprehensive tutorial about quadcopter, hope it helps you as much as it helped me. DARPA combines human brains and 120-megapixel cameras to create the ultimate military threat detection system. After more than four years of research, DARPA has created a system that successfully combines soldiers, EEG brainwave scanners, 120-megapixel cameras, and multiple computers running cognitive visual processing algorithms into a cybernetic hivemind.

DARPA combines human brains and 120-megapixel cameras to create the ultimate military threat detection system

Called the Cognitive Technology Threat Warning System (CT2WS), it will be used in a combat setting to significantly improve the US Army’s threat detection capabilities. There are two discrete parts to the system: The 120-megapixel camera, which is tripod-mounted and looks over the battlefield (pictured below); and the computer system, where a soldier sits in front of a computer monitor with an EEG strapped to his head (pictured above). Images from the camera are fed into the computer system, which runs cognitive visual processing algorithms to detect possible threats (enemy combatants, sniper nests, IEDs). In short, CT2WS taps the human brain’s unsurpassed ability to recognize objects. Virtual Reality. Robots. Future Technology. VRay. PARAMETRIC MODELING. » Volumetrics – God Rays. I’ve had a number of people ask recently about my ‘Intro Sequence’ post and how I achieved the volumetrics in the scene, so I’ve taken some time to put together short ‘how-to’ on the subject.

It’s very simple and can be very effective. Using this method also allows for a lot of tweaking as the render times are very low. 3D Printing in Libraries Around the World. April 22, 2013 By Riel Gallant Introduction Since late 2011, when the Fayetteville Public Library received widespread media attention for its hackerspace, 3D printers slowly began appearing in libraries around the world, particularly in the United States.

3D Printing in Libraries Around the World

Recently, debates have sparked in the library blogosphere over this phenomenon; with the argument stemming back to library missions (Andromeda Yelton, Lankes, Rundle). This report will present statistics concerning libraries in the world who have adopted 3D printing.
