http://blog.legendrerutter.com/ We’re on the verge of opening the 2nd Chicago International Poster Biennial—an initiative we have shepherded since 2007—at Harrington College of Design on July 14th. While we are absorbed in the many details of putting on a major exhibition and event, it seems appropriate to reflect on why posters are important to us, especially since they are, in fact, a very small portion of the work we do for clients. 2008 CIPB Poster by Yann Legendre, 2010 Poster by Paula Scher The text from the introduction of the Biennial exhibition catalog speaks pretty well to the importance we place on posters in our work as artists and designers. The National Archives Building: Temple of American History

http://estore.archives.gov/ProductInfo/N-02-1339.aspx The National Archives Building: Temple of American History is an exploration of the history of the National Archives Building. The book is intended as a lay person’s guide to the National Archives Building, explaining its history, architectural features, and the symbolism of its ornate sculptures. Filled with historic photographs and architectural drawings from the Archives' holdings, as well as contemporary photographs by Carol M. Highsmith and Colin Winterbottom, the book celebrates architect John Russell Pope's masterwork and traces the history of the Archives from its inception.
"The challenge of this project is to create a new luxury make up collection for an chosen cosmetic brand, which is L’Occitane En Provence. Being a luxury brand with long history, L’Occitane values simple goods from nature, as well as to preserve and to carry on, which they believe this gives the brand its life force. The new cosmetic collection, Bloom, is to celebrate the beauty of nature through the form of their products and through the use of natural ingredients; inspired by nature, the packaging of Bloom contains an element of surprise.
