http://www.dj-sures.com/Robots/ " A robot is a virtual or mechanical artificial agent. In practice, it is usually an electro-mechanical machine which is guided by computer or electronic programming, and is thus able to do tasks on its own. " I am very passionate about robotics. I believe robots have a place in our lives and homes for a variety of tasks, ranging from interactive companionship as pets (for the uber geeks), to security and entertainment.

http://www.ukrobotgroup.com/joomla/ Hello and welcome to a new site dedicated to Robotics enthusiasts from across the UK. Engineering in the UK seems to have become a quiet, almost underground movement, which struggles to bring people together to provide events and communities where they can share information and innovate. Looking around the world, it doesn't seems to be that way elsewhere.

We’ve been working with the Chinook Mall since they did a retrofit a decade ago, where they really amped up the mall, making it the keynote shopping centre of Calgary. One of their features is the “Time Capsule Clock”, which sits in the floor of the center court, where a 1000 year time capsule waits under a clock. Time passes fine for the capsule, but time did not treat the clock too well at all. Since clocks are generally supposed to be wall-mounted affairs, the constant beating it took from floor cleaners and pedestrians finally make it die an early death. We were called in periodically to repair the clock hands and reset the time until they finally gave us the go-ahead to design them a replacement. A much better engineered replacement – a ShadowClock!
This circuit is how [John Tsiombikas] makes his cheap 3D shutter glasses work with a Linux machine . It’s not that they were incompatible with Linux. The issue is that only certain video cards have the stereo port necessary to drive the head-mounted hardware. Shutter glasses block light from one eye at a time, so that different renderings can be shown to create the stereoscopic effect. Since stimulating the muscles in the eye doesn’t actually work , you need to find a way to drive the glasses in perfect time with the video signal.

How to make your first robot | Let's Make Robots!

http://letsmakerobots.com/start?page=1 Because there are so many little things you need to know. This is an attempt to let you know exactly all these little things, and nothing more. Fast, and based on 2 years of experience of what people need to know to get started. If you hurry, you can run through this, and be robot builder in a couple of hours. But expect to use a good weekend - Learning takes time - even though it is very easy, it just takes some time, all the little things to get to know :)
