“The amazing thing about it,” explained Hudson, “is the weight of the material. It was very difficult to weigh….They want things very precise at the patent office [but] we couldn’t get consistent results with the material. It kept gaining weight and gaining weight.” Using thermo-gravimetric analysis, it was found that when samples of the material were reduced to the white powder state, it lost 44 percent of its original weight.
