AddressUpdate

AddressUpdate is a free utility that monitors your Mac OS X Address Book database for changes. Whenever such a change occurs, for example when editing or creating a contact, it will try to retrieve additional information about that contact from the Internet &ndash based on any given telephone number of your contact. AddressUpdate uses two technologies called XPath and regular expressions in order to let the user customize where AddressUpdate looks for address information about a contact. XPaths and regular expressions might seems a bit complicated for the average user, and therefore AddressUpdate supports the use of configuration files . To use an AddressUpdate configuration file, just double-click it while AddressUpdate is running and that site configuration will be added to your stored sites! There are some configuration files included with AddressUpdate, and you can chose which ones suite you best. http://hem.bredband.net/leobergnhr/au/

Mike's Free Stuff

Jan 7 2007 I often wander around without a computer, so I needed a nice easy way to print important bits into little books of information that I could carry around in my pocket. Chad Adams figured out a brilliant technique of cutting and folding pieces of paper into little books and called it PocketMod .

For the next generation of HFS Plus debugging, check out fileXray —hfsdebug's functionality is a small subset of what fileXray can do.

Read the introductory blog post for more info and to see a short screencast. To simplify the usage of Extract, I've created a bookmarklet to load content directly into Extract. Drag this Extract bookmarklet link to your bookmarks bar.

24 Killer Portable Apps For Your USB Flash Drive

I learned to write, clear, maintainable code the hard way. For the last twelve years, I've made my living writing computer games and selling them over the Net using the marketing technique that was once charmingly known as shareware. What this means is that I start with a blank screen, start coding, and, a few tens of thousands of lines of code later, I have something to sell. This means that, if I make a stinky mess, I'm doing it in my own nest.
