Autobiografía. Wright manifestó en muchas de sus obras una anhelada conexión con la naturaleza circundante. No por ello podemos hablar de un naturalismo, más que nada por respeto al arquitecto, quien denostaba todos los ismos. El propugnaba la arquitectura orgánica, una arquitectura sin estilo que “surgía” con el entorno. Una forma cuya estructura era imposible de definir en su generalidad, ya que respondía a su enclave en el paisaje. La arquitectura japonesa y F.L.Wright. Personalmente creo que la arquitectura japonesa tradicional es extraordinaria, en su variedad y su simpleza, en el delicado balance entre su mundo interior y su relación con el exterior.
Lamentablemente, no hay mucho escrito en español sobre ella. Aquí no pretendo hacer un recorrido por su historia sino intentar dar una visión de aquellos aspectos que la caracterizan y su influencia en la arquitectura occidental. Para comprender muchos de los aspectos de la arquitectura japonesa intentare fijarme en Kioto y en su situación geográfica.
