Hofstede’s Power distance Index measures the extent to which the less powerful members of organizations and institutions (like the family) accept and expect that power is distributed unequally. This represents inequality (more versus less), but defined from below, not from above. It suggests that a society’s level of inequality is endorsed by the followers as much as by the leaders. For example, Germany has a 35 on the cultural scale of Hofstede’s analysis. Compared to Arab countries where the power distance is very high (80) and Austria where it very low (11), Germany is somewhat in the middle. Germany does not have a large gap between the wealthy and the poor, but have a strong belief in equality for each citizen.

Perhaps the only thing more annoying than the the "dry clean only" label on your clothes is the "hand wash only" label. How exactly should you wash those delicates? Are you supposed to use soap? How much? Hand washing delicates is actually pretty straightforward, once you have the instructions: Use a clean sink or other large basin filled with lukewarm water.

© From: V.Meged, A.Ovcharov. Learn To Manage People Efficiently, 2000. The Craftsman easily detects smallest deviations from esthetic standards in the surrounding world; such disharmony makes him feel distressed, awakes in him a feeling of discomfort, the desire to improve the situation, to perfect what he achieved or actually possesses – not only in the material world, but in his intellectual and spiritual development as well. This is why The Craftsman is exigent to himself and often also to the others. He likes nothing drab, trite and banal, strives for improvement of his own, his friends and family, beginning from the appearance and health, and up to the mental development. He is very curious, has wide range of interests, often he is not self-confident because of increased self-criticism.
Male portrait Lean, and slightly round-shouldered, Male LIIs produce a pleasant impression. Men of this type frequently have large blue eyes, and a pale face, as well as short hair. Their clothing style often consists of soft pullovers and well ironed trousers, although they will wear suits on rare occasions. Being an intellectual man, submerged in himself and somewhat removed from everyday life, an LII man behaves softly and carefully. However, men of this type, when they are around those that they are close to, bloom and become sociable, telling stories and displaying a sarcastic wit, as well as behave in a lively fashion.

eBook available on Amazon Race Against the Machine deserves praise for jump-starting an important discussion about the effect of technology on our economy. As the authors point out, the impact of computers and information technology has been largely left out of most analysis regarding causes of our current unemployment woes. This book, therefore, is an attempt to “put technology back in the discussion.” The book is divided into roughly two halves: one pessimistic and one optimistic. The first three chapters comprise the pessimistic portion and make a compelling case for how accelerating technological progress and rapid productivity gains are not only creating unemployment, but also contributing to greater inequality.
Rapper Snoop Dogg found a novel way to launch his new album this spring: with a star-studded release party in Hollywood that doubled as a showcase for a new fruit-flavored malt beverage called Blast. Conceived by the makers of Colt 45, Blast is the first serious competitor to Four Loko, the notorious high-caffeine, high-alcohol concoction that was banned following a frantic nationwide scandal last fall. Like its controversial predecessor, Snoop’s favorite new refreshment looks as innocuous as soda in its neon-bright supersize cans—but the bubblegum-sweet liquid inside packs a whopping 12% alcohol punch. To promote the new beverage, the rapper hosted Blast parties across southern California and appeared in a video with a trio of bodacious costars, generating plenty of viral buzz for the drink. But he also inspired a bubbling backlash .
