Crédit : Philippe Lebruman 50e podcast, chiffre important donc.

(TAL050) Krikor - Trace A Line

We're all still a bit choked up from the bomb Air France dropped on us (he he, get it?) on Monday, when the Swedish duo announced it would be disbanding after nearly six years of making breezy, Balearic brilliance. And almost as a way to help us cope, Memory Tapes , a friend and labelmate of Air France's over on Something in Construction, has let loose a remix he did of the last tune to surface from Joel Karlsson's and Henrik Markstedt's collaborative project, the effervescent "It Feel Good to Be Around You." This new version employs plenty of strings and melodic atmospherics to keep the mood light, which the straightforward dance beat and funky bassline effectively do, too. Then there's this vocal sample; it's a bit indistinguishable, but the last couple of words stand out. http://www.xlr8r.com/

http://pitchfork.com/ On the Philly rapper's first mixtape to reflect his heightened profile-- a collection featuring guest spots from Drake, Wale, Big Sean, Fabolous, and Kendrick Lamar, among others-- he doesn't so much step out of his own world as merge it with the one he's about to enter.

Two posts in one today, to make up for a week long absence of illegally distributed music via our ragged looking blogspot page, both with circa 1983 London theme, one from me and another from Tom Thump, perhaps the first rare groove DJ I ever heard after first moving to San Francisco a long time ago. I made contact with him whilst searching for a mixtape of his that I used to play on repeat during my train ride into work around the turn of the millennium, he graciously dug into his archive and hooked me up, as well as agreeing to to grace us with a guest mix. My contribution today is a one off dance cut by Antiguan expat Wendell 'Del' Richardson, better known as the guitarist in London based Afro Pop band Osibisa.

Feel my Bicep

http://www.feelmybicep.com/ Beautiful sunshine vibes with this dubbed out Prince Fatty/ Hollie Cook cover version of The Whispers classic . Taken from forthcoming Prince Fatty ‘Drunken Master’ and Hollie Cook’s ‘In Dub’ albums on Mr Bongo, summer feels like its here too soon already! I must say, I know little about Lee Stevens , but his recent output on LeSale’s LuvShack records has caught my attention. A rather fantastic upcoming track of his is ‘Reaper of Luv’ which reminds me of the closing credits to some epic 80s romantic-horror flick with the prom queen leaving in the arms of the zombie slaying good guy! Be sure to check this shit !

Oakland metal band High On Fire just released its sixth album, De Vermis Mysteriis , via eOne Music . “Kings Of Days” was recorded with producer and Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou in Salem, MA, and the sludgy track showcases the band’s signature brawny stoner-metal style, propelled by singer/guitarist Matt Pike’s guttural vocals and searing riffs. The track is seven minutes long, which is more than enough time to convince you that it’s awesome. Here, murky discopop Londoners Visions of Trees take on Sonic Youth ’s “Expressway To Your Skull,” turning it into some sort of industrial anthem for a documentary about the demise of a glue-sniffing, underage Ukrainian discotheque rave crew in 1991. http://rcrdlbl.com/
