I’ve tried lots of brownie recipes: Boxes, scratch, frosted, plain, nuts, chips, fudge … Each of them has something to like, but depending on my mood I might want a change of pace. Not any more. My wife found this recipe, and it’s perfect. I’m done looking. http://cooklikeyourgrandmother.com/2009/07/how-to-make-perfect-brownies/

http://www.howsweeteats.com/2010/08/better-than-crack-brownies/ I’m sorry for doing this to you. I really am. But see, last Friday while I was on a 10-hour road trip heading for vacation, I received this recipe from a reader named Liz. Liz, I love you. That’s all I have to say.

Let me start off by saying that viewer discretion is advised for today’s post. OK now with the story that preludes possibly the greatest brownie I have ever sunk my teeth in thus far in my life. Last Saturday Mrs. Zesty had a baby shower to attend and she was designated for a dessert/sweet treat for the girls. Last week was a bit of a zoo and I think I forgot about prepping this dessert until Friday afternoon at work. After work I did a quick scan for some ideas and came up with a chocolate caramel brownie .

Last weekend a friend I decided to neglect our school work and go for a hike in the snow followed by dinner and a movie at my house. I had all the ingredients on hand for some tasty Corn and Cheese Chowder which was perfect way to warm up after a cold hike. My friend said she’d be in charge of bringing ingredients for us to make dessert and I was so excited to see that she’d picked out these truffles! Eating the cookie dough is usually one of the best parts of making cookies, but then you feel bad because you’re supposed to be making cookies- not snacking on the dough! These cute little truffles taste just like cookie dough and since they don’t have any eggs, they’re totally safe to eat. These can be decorated in all sorts of creative ways and they’ll look like a suitable ‘grown up’ dessert, even though you’re eating cookie dough!

I always get asked the same question over and over again - "what do you with all your baking?" Well, I usually bake on Saturdays so my husband and I have something for dessert that night. Anything we don't eat either goes to friends on Sundays, or my co-workers on Mondays. But not this week. Not with these Salted Caramel Dulce de Leche Cheesecake Bars! Why? http://www.madewithpink.com/2010/11/salted-caramel-cheesecake-bars-dulce.html

Well these naughty little treats are well….naughty but oh so necessary. They are simply prepared in cupcake liners.
