Chinese Long Beans {RECIPE} | The Sensual Foodie. As the summer moves into fall, I find myself holding on to the last bites of seasonal produce so that I can savor the taste of sunshine. A late August stroll through my local farmers’ market had me clasping bunches of long green beans, scooping pulpy handfuls of bright cherry tomatoes into a bag, and that’s when I found the inspiration for these Chinese long beans. This is one of the easiest recipes to make. It really isn’t a recipe but a gathering of a few summery ingredients thrown together in a bowl. If it’s hot outside, you’ll be glad to make this quickly, and enjoy it cold after a few hours in the fridge. I made this out of the produce I brought home from the farmers’ market and served it as a salad dish during an outdoor concert that evening. Chinese Long Beans with Cherry Tomatoes in Sesame Dressing Ingredients: 1 bunch Chinese long beans, ends trimmed, chopped in 4″ lengths 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved sesame seeds, sprinkled sesame oil mirin cooking wine –or– sake *sesame dressing*

Green and Yellow Bean Casserole With Cheddar. Green and yellow bean casserole with cheddar cheese is an excellent accompaniment to pork chops or chicken breast. It's a delicious last minute recipe that your family or guests will love. Ingredients 3 14 oz cans of Del Monte green wax beans2 14 oz cans of Del Monte yellow wax beans1 red pepper, finely chopped1 onion, diced3 tbsp. olive oil1 tsp. garlic powdersalt and pepper to taste1/2 cup of plain bread crumbs2 cups of cheddar cheese DirectionsDrain yellow and green beans and place in casserole dish. To make the crusty topping, grate cheddar cheese and place in a small mixing bowl. Sprinkle topping over beans and bake in a 350º oven for approx. 20 minutes or until cheese topping is a crusty and golden.

Fried Green Beans 2 tablespoons olive oil (we prefer bacon fat for taste) 1 tablespoon butter 2 cups fresh green beans, trimmed and cut to preferred length (we like 'em long) 2 tablespoons lemon juice 1 pinch garlic salt Salt & pepper to taste (watch the salt if you use bacon fat) 1 teaspoon lemon zest Heat the olive oil/fat and butter in a skillet over medium heat.

Add green beans, lemon juice and garlic salt. Cook until the beans are tender but still a bit crunchy, approximately 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Salt & pepper to taste. Add lemon zest over top. Deep Fried Green Beans 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed and cut to preferred length 1 cup buttermilk 2 cups all purpose flour 1 tablespoon salt 1/2 tablespoon pepper 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder Oil for deep frying Wash and trim green beans.

It's a vegetable side dish that's easy to make that will add a definite punch of flavor to your next meal. Thai Green Beans (Cooking Light Magazine) 1/2 pound fresh green beansVegetable cooking spray1 teaspoon vegetable oil1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms3 cloves garlic, minced3 tablespoons cold water1 1/2 teaspoons corn starch2 green onions, cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce1/4 teaspoon pepper2 tablespoons chopped unsalted dry-roasted peanuts1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro Wash beans; trim ends and remove strings.
